You missed the joke. The obvious part was that they were checking baseball scores. The less than obvious part, but still obvious, was that they were going for the Cardinals, referring to both the baseball team and the senior officials in the Catholic Church.

Thanks for the info. I think Mariners is one too since Jesus was a fisherman. Devil Rays was one before they took the devil out. I'd imagine Giants is named after the people that the Israelites were really afraid of when they were returning to the promised land. We can't forget the Royals since Jesus is the king of kings.

Aw Heck- let's include the Marlins because, after all- Jesus was the fisher of men. Remember, the ancient symbol was a fish.....
