Tee Ball Bunt Machine
Positives: A winning road trip! - even if just barely Can't say enough good about the Bullpen Olsen continues to amaze, even without getting the win. Hendrickson, even not pitching his best, still does well. In the 5 starts since opening day he has allowed 9 total ERs, less than 2 per game. Nolasco has a couple of good starts for all those who wanted to send him to the pen, even if he didn't get a W in either. Still nice to think we have 3 reasonably reliable pitchers instead of 2. Miller even did a little better, even if he has yet to make it past 5 IP. Still leading the division. And won a series against a good club with still a well over 500 record. Negatives: Badenhop still struggling. Cody still not hitting. Jake's finger. Defense still needs work. Also, nice to get a day off after all the extra inning games and plenty of work for the bullpen. EricWiener
Miller is starting to look like the pitcher we want. He is not going to get past 6 IP while he is this wild and we are determined to keep him at 100 pitches. Our RISP problem is still an open question. 25 games does not generate enough PAs to look at. Even still, the team is drawing walks with RISP, so I'd have to expect that the hits will come.
Erick
I was just looking at some stats. The bullpen has really done the job, for the most part. They're top 5 in the ML in ERA (2nd in the NL). They're, I believe, top 3 in innings pitched. Their record is 6-2 (which shows they've done well when it counts). Check out these ERA's: Kevin Gregg: 2.02 Reynel Pinto: 1.08 Justin Miller: 2.51 Logan Kensing: 0.87 Matt Lindstrom: 3.00 Doug Waechter: 1.80 ...the only - right now is Taylor Tankersley (7.04). We're 6-2 in 1 run games. That's why our negative run differential thus far, doesn't mean as much.

So lame that Waechter has 1.80 ERA, it should stil be 0.00 but since the rule is that since Hermida didnt touch the ball they cant give him an error on a fly ball. But WAIT MLB, you gave it to Lastings Millage when he lost the ball to the sun at Dolphins Stadium... god... and WOW I didnt know Millers ERA was so low... Another add on to Pinto... if anyone thank god it was to Prince Fielder... shows that he is the only one who can hit him :shifty
Sirspud
Positives: Cody still not hitting. Jake's finger. Bringing in Gonzalez was about the worst thing that could happen for Cody. It was already pretty hard to define his role as a 4th outfielder and having him as a 5th, with no real defined role, makes things real tough for him. He is a very streaky guy who needs to get some ABs to get a hot streak going. I'm also not surprised that Jake got hurt somehow. It always happens. Bret Hart
Negatives: Cody still not hitting. How 'bout Brett Carroll? he's in the PCL as hitter-friendly league, you know, He has great numbers in AAA (.417/.485/.900) 8 hr & 20 rbi in 16 games, and 0 errors. Against lefty? it's 7-for-15 (.467) with 3hr & 8rbi We Do Not holding him at AAA.

I was at that game and kept looking up at the scoreboard to see if they were changing it and they never did that day. That went as a double for Cody. I just went back and checked, and it's still listed as a double, no error on Lastings. BTW That was a great bluff by him. Kept Cantu stalled at 2B and he never did get past 3B on the play. Heck, he had me bluffed too. I thought he had it all the way. Right up to the very last second. So nice attempt at trying to give some hate Hermida's way. It just isn't correct. I don't think Gonzalez has done much to affect Cody's playing time. Cody is on the team to play CF or come in for defense late. Gonzalez doesn't do either of those. Even as PH they would be used in opposite situations with regards to the pitcher (Cody vs LHP, Gonzo vs RHP).
