May 11, 200818 yr The early show only took one hour and twenty minutes (out of one hour and thirty minutes) to get to the Marlins who they still refuse to acknowledge are in first place or have the third best winning percentage trailing Boston and Arizona by mere points. It's really getting funny. But yeah the fantasy thing was really the best (or worst depending on your sense of humor). On one hand it's irrelevant on a number of levels but the problem I have with it is continues what is already an untrue stereotype in the minds of everyone who sees it. Even Buster Olney can't get the story straight.
May 11, 200818 yr Just got back from the game. Gotta say that the field there is quite beautiful and it's a great baseball environment. However, I am a Jackass....as I was a few drinks deep when Carrol made that awesome catch in left...I went nuts but thought it was Luis and was screaming "LUIS THE LEGEND". OH well It was a great game to watch! Woah i thought you were gonna say, that you were the Jackass who tossed the Wes Helms homerun ball back then got kicked out the park. Haha, no way man. I wouldn't throw back a HR ball no matter who hit it. I remember the ball being thrown onto the field but why did the gey get kicked out?
May 11, 200818 yr Woah i thought you were gonna say, that you were the Jackass who tossed the Wes Helms homerun ball back then got kicked out the park. I was suprised that they tossed that guy... Great game to go to, and a nice W without too many worries makes the good experience at Nats Park even better. I could mention how nice it was with the bats coming out, and getting to see Uggla's first career grand slam, but aside from that, the big bats were nothing new. But Miller was great tonight. 7 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, what more can you ask for? Here's hoping that the coaching staff knew what they were doing in deciding to keep him up through all the rough starts and that this is a sign of things to come.
May 11, 200818 yr Ah okay, there's the guy the Marlins traded for, Andrew Miller. Its nice to see all aspects of the team clicking at the same time. I have always thought that the Marlins were infinitely more talented than the Nationals, so it pained me last year when they lost the season series to them. Now, they are beating them down mercilessly like they should.
May 11, 200818 yr Hi guys, i've been a long time reader, today's game was truly amazing for the Marlins, i don't know if anyone else caught this in BBTN but when they brought out the fantasy "specialist" he said to keep Harang in your team because he will be facing the Marlins struggling offense, is it just me or are the ESPN analysts so lazy they can't even check to see if what they are saying is correct? Yea, I caught that too. I was like WTF :lol.
May 11, 200818 yr Being a Marlin fan hasn't felt this good in a LONG time. The stadium is coming, Hanley is here to stay, and the Marlins just keep on winning! And I'll be honest with you, after the Marlins traded Cabrera and Willis, I thought there was no way this team would lose any less than 100 games[/b](just like everyone else thought) but the way some of these guys are stepping up is truly amazing. Such an exciting team to watch, and I'm glad to admit they're proving me wrong. Go fish! The future is bright! Were you just reading the posts that agreed with you at that time??
May 11, 200818 yr BTW, what happened to GarbageMan? He's not a Marlins fan. So he left when the Marlins started the streak. Expect him back here the next time we lose, though. Him and a couple others. So I will help them...... "This team sucks. There is no way a team of crappy wanna be MLers like this can win 55 games in a row!! I tell ya, we SUCK." How's that?? Am I allowed into their elite fraternity now? I so want to be right all the time.
May 11, 200818 yr Being the franchise that we are, I don't any player can ever be considered inexpendable. However, to all the people who don't see Uggla as an integral part of this team and a big part of the future, I think tonight was a pretty good example of what he brings. He was a few feet away from a three run homer (which ended up a sac fly) before he hit the grand slam. The guy is a great power hitter, though admittedly streaky. To get that kind of production from 2B, plus acceptable defense, is pretty nice. His Phil Plantier/Rob Deer type numbers last year would have been acceptable for an old school power hitter. I believe he is going to have a better year average wise. Thinking about the offensive potential of this Jacobs, Uggla, Ramirez, Cantu infield is exciting. The make shift outfield is fairly solid offensively. Adding to that the fact that Treanor is hitting better than a pitcher is icing on the cake. The screen name says it all. This is actually Minervini himself. I say go stand under a big apple and wait for the Mets to hit a home run. I realize it may take a while, but you have nothing better to do.

Do I detect a Minervini hater? At least I'm not in the closet about it. Can't stand the guy. I get in a catchers crouch and pray to the baseball gods for his firing every off season. Sorry to infer you were actually him. That was a pretty low blow.

That couldn't be Minervini. Craig is above the computer.
