I saw it on sportscenter, OUCH!! damn that sucks, he had been tearing it up...its the Muts, but still, good luck to him.

saw the play too. part of me says that's what church gets for trying to hurt escobar (he hit him earlier in the game), but i hope he gets better soon so we can put him on our public enemy list for being a dirty player. i think the mets are resorting to beating our players up because they can't beat us otherwise.

i'm a bit concerned about escobar though, i'm hoping there isn't any kind of lingering damage from that dirty hit from church, but i'm thinking he sits out until the weekend.

Yeah, ok. Slides like that are part of the game, it was copmletely clean, he was in reach of the bag and didn't slide past the bag at all. And if Escobar can't take it he should put the ball in his pocket and take the one out, that's the risk you take.

There was NOTHING wrong with that slide, it was about as textbook as you can get. Sometimes you let your homerism get in the way of your commonsense. For you to worry more about your guy, who gave someone a concussion and ended up with a bruise, than the guy who got the concussion, is an insult to humanity.

We will never know whether it was a clean or a dirty slide because there's no way of knowing if Church would have being able to reach the bag without the collision. The fact that he ended up with a mild concussion doesn't sway it towards the clean side.

He would have easily touched the bag.

Just an accident

clean slide

tried to take out escabar but he ended up getting cleated

No, Escobar's knee went into his head.

Knee or shin area one or the other.

If it was cleated it would have been much worse.
