Class Of 2008!

Featured Replies

My sister just graduated back in Houston. Tough battle, felt like a 9th inning rally.

But congrats man, hopefully you have a bitching graduation party afterwards.

Who graduates High school this week? My graduation is on Thursday.

Wait a minute, you go to Braddock, right?

You gotta do what I did.

When walking up on the stage, I took the the diploma in one hand, and as I was walking towards Manny (Mr. Garcia), I went to my mouth as if I was scratching my nose and licked my hand. After I shook his hand, I wiped it down to shake Mr. Braddock's hand.

But that was my last FU to Manny, the worst principal in MDCPS history.

As a high school counselor, I was curious how Palm Beach county does graduations so early. Do you take final exams before or after the graduation? What do they do if a student is a potential graduate but doesnt end up graduating, because a lot of our students don't clear for graduation until final grades and final exams are in.

Seniors here get out of school about a month earlier than 9th, 10th, and 11th graders do--so esentially, instead of a typical 9 week quarter, it is 5 weeks.

High school seniors are exempt from final exams if they miss 10 or less days the entire semester. If they miss 11 or more, they are to take their exams for that class the day after the last day of school. Grades are submitted and processed about a week before graduation.

I took my SAT's for the 1st time today...it's a start, right? :confused

Man, I didn't take mine til December of my senior year! I did well though, so it didn't matter.

It's not really as difficult as some people make it seem...

1 of the math questions was like...if x-2=5...what is x? Kinda weird to see that type of question on a college test, eh?

Anyways...

The only difficult part was:

-only 25 minutes for each section (some sections were less, like 20 mins.)

-the fact it was my 1st time (I just have to get used to boring stories).

Anything that had to do with writing and grammar, I did well in, easily, and the reading...there were about 5 passages; I only read about 3, b/c the other 2 were so boring. For some reason, 1 of the 3 I read had to do with ballet, so that kinda freaked me out, that, that story didn't bore me as much as the other 2 I didn't read.

The Math was so-so. Some questions were difficult.

Where are you going to Community College? PBCC in Lake Worth? I went there.

I got a 790 on the Math part of the SAT's. So frickin frustrating.

Yep. I've heard bad things about it though, lol. I'm kinda contemplating going to the Gardens campus, but I think I'll just end up at Lake Worth. What did you think of it?

Gardens campus is really nice but I think Lake Worth offers more. I did have some good teachers though @ the LW campus. I am a not a big fan of small classes because I am pretty quiet person so this is why I like FSU better. When I am sitting in a class of 200 its alittle bit harder for a teacher to call on me :).

Oh also, having a Friday class is very rare so having Friday off is lovely.
