And btw, who cares if you get killed? Take one for the team!!! =P

damn right! That's hella weak to not rep your team because you're scared. Weak!

So, the wife and I are taking a trip to New York (eww) to see some games at Yankee stadium and Shea before they are demolished. I am threatening to wear my "Certified Yankee Hater" shirt with my 2003 Josh Beckett jersey and our official Marlins hat. I want to know if I will make it out of there in one piece?

I kinda did that. Marlins shirt, pendant on necklace, cap, and screaming and cheering. A LOT of fun, and they were actually cool about it. I had fun, you will too.

You're right, Ashley, I'll suck it up. So if you hear of a Marlins fan getting stabbed or something on the 10th, just know that I did it cheering the Fish on to victory! :clapping

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to say that I made it back safely, and had an amazing time at the game on Sunday (makes sense, being a win!)

Highlights:

1. Two of the people in my section left the game for good in the 5th inning when it was 6-1. Nice fans!

2. They came on the scoreboard to say that the kids' run around the bases was canceled because of the weather and the fans booed so loudly, I thought that there was going to be a riot.

3. I was standing in the concourse watching the 8th inning on the TV to stay out of the rain and clapped the nice grab from Cody, and some dude stopped leaving to yell at me, "Who the f*** are you? Get the f*** outta here!" I wasn't sure if he was talking to me or not so I kinda glanced back at him and he said, "Yeah, you. Get the f*** outta here!" It was all I could do to keep from cracking up as he walked away and headed to the exit.

4. Unfortunately, my sister and I saw no other Marlins fans the entire game. On the way out, we saw three guys in Marlins gear take the train before us back to Manhattan, but that was it. We did run into a Red Sox fan in a Lowell shirt though.

That was the first time I have been able to see the Marlins since I moved away from Ft. Lauderdale so it was a great experience and uh...let's just say that if there are, oh, I don't know..."extra games" later on this year past when the season usually ends...I will try to fly back to Florida to see some of these games. :thumbup

Glad to hear the trip went well and everything else went smoothly

When are the Marlins expected to play at Fenway again? 2009?

That's how I see it.

Edit: I am planning on going to Boston next year... I don't know whether it's gonna be a Marlins-Red Sox game.. it depends on timing and scheduling.

Fenway is a great place to go for a few games, horrible for a season ticket holder. Look into staying outside of Boston though, maybe Brookline, or even further out in Riverside. Riverside is nice, because you are right on the Green line, the hotels are right there and for a week MBTA pass its cheap and you can still do all the boston stuff.

I was just at Fenway a little over a week ago. What an experience. If you're going to get tickets for a game next season, I recommend doing it ASAP. I tried to get tickets almost three months in advance for a game and it was already sold out. Luckily, my dad's friend lives in Boston and she gave me two tickets. If you're planning on sitting anywhere close, the prices are going to be at least $150 per ticket, not to mention paying anywhere from $300-500 per night if you want to stay at a hotel in the city.

I wore a Marlins jersey to Wrigley when we played there for a Marlins/Cubs series.... Im not comparing Chicago to NY, but they both have solid fan bases... Cubs fans are just crazy because they havent won anything in like 100 years hahah...

I say go for it

Would it be smart going to Wrigley wearing a "Steve Bartman is awesome" shirt?

Cub fans are all bark. No worries.

Hell, after the Bartman incident, his name, address, and phone number got out there. He got tons of threats but not a single person in the entire city did anything.
