How to snag a baseball

Featured Replies

What bugs me about him is how he acts like such a little kid when he doesn't get his way.

I think he had a cool hobby. I would love to visit different parks like that. But, I wonder if he really is into the game or just catching baseballs. :confused

LOL You noticed that too? Also see how he moved out of the guys hearing range before he said anything?? Real brave guy.

Its strange cause...he has a cool hobby and an interesting premise for us "real fans"...but he comes off like a whiney baby and quite frankly...a loser...

When he explains his reasons and strategies, things DO make sense... I especially love the line about being the 10th fielder...Not withstanding balls that where thrown by the bullpen or the ballboy, I did catch a direct foul ball one afternoon...and I did feel like that 10th fielder... that ball was tossed by Mike Piazza to his pitcher Scott Linebrink, who pitched it and Amezaga took a swing and I was THE person who caught that very baseball... THAT is a great feeling and he describes it very well...

BUT if I were to show that to a non-fan to explain what I felt when I caught that ball, they'd think me and especially this guy were disgustingly obsessed baseball nerds... For some reason this reminds me of the 40-year old virgin in that most men love comic books and video games in some way, but that guy shows that it CAN be overboard...

I got mixed feelings on this guy...

I actually have the book that the guy wrote on how to snag baseballs from 1999.

So true. I remember reading about this guy some time ago and running into the picture of him in the baseball filled bathtub. I showed it to my best friend, who does not like baseball very much at all. She just looked at the picture and was like, "What the hell?"
