July 16, 200817 yr They really don't want to over diagnose people with this type of injury because the time commitment to rehab/return is so long. But the good news is that there is a very high rate of return from TJ surgery compared to shoulder surgery so there is no reason to think he won't be back strong. I suspect his elbow issues have always contributed to his inconsistency so this may be a good thing for his career. I don't think the Marlins would be foolish and let him get away until he's had a chance to rehab and see where he's at.

A bunch of players will be eligible for arbitration next year.
July 16, 200817 yr Oh no, we lost like the 19th most important arm in our system. Yawn. Eh, it was more for this year, not for the future. As sad as it makes me, we probably won't see Mitre again.
July 17, 200817 yr Girardi Rode our Rotation into the dirt in 06, and we are still recovering. I honestly can't see Hughes or Kennedy or Joba in NY lasting long without injury. Part of me wishes he would have stuck around for 07 just to prove him as a fraud who overworked his young staff to the point of destruction. JJ, Anibal, Mitre - 3/5ths of the 06 rotation. Coincidence, I think not. They all broke down eventually- Mitre apparently had a higher tolrance but could not recover.

July 17, 200817 yr I'm slightly skeptical that he would have benefited the team much this season even with some of the terrible showings we've already seen.
