August 8, 200818 yr i really like those and would love to see the team trotting out into a nice new stadium sporting those unis in 2011
August 9, 200818 yr I like the logos & such, overall very nice work. However- it should always be white and never any sort of off-white. I find the idea of our home Jersey's not having pinstripes to be strange. No white cap w/ teal brim. Only Teal w/ black brim. Except with a teal Jersey, because that would be overkill IMO - just use a solid black cap like now. I could maybe say ok to a white w/ teal brim for a BP cap, which would then have the black piping and teal trim on the sides. I don't like the black w/ teal color scheme right now for the BP cap. Rather than simply make the BP Jersey black, I'd rather see an Away alternate black jersey with Miami across it, not unlike how the Braves have the alternate home red jerseys and the alternate road blue jerseys. But I'd say the home jerseys should have black pinstripes and the teal w/ black cap. The road I can see going either way, with a solid black cap or a teal w/ black brim. And while I see the value in having a simpler cap logo, since others mentioned potential confusion between our M and others, you could also just put the rest of the Fish in under the fin to distinguish it further. Still I like it. Keep the Fish orange-free.
August 9, 200818 yr Sadly, these will likely be right on-when most of the non white and gray colors are replaced with different shades of orange.
August 10, 200818 yr That being said I still have my teal hat with the black brim on display in my house LOL. (on the brim is written in marker "Florida Marlins '97 world champions" with the exact date and time we scored the winning run below. Ahhh staying up late during Senior Year to watch the Marlins win the series......priceless. All in all id give the uni's an 8/10. I love the Miami on the road jersey and the font is top notch. And I thought I was the only one who did that! I remember falling asleep during second period psych, but it was so worth it! ha, nope youre not the only one. I wouldnt dare fall asleep, New Orleans is Braves & Cubs country (now its Red Sox bandwagon country) so I had to wear my Marlins gear and rub it in to all my friends that the Marlins now had just as many world series as the Braves & just as many series wins as the Cubs had in the past 90 years. It is also Astros country, but being an Astro fan is pathetic enough theres no further harm to be done by talking junk to a Stros fan. Speaking of High School..........I lost my virginity wearing that Marlins hat come to think of it. (i wasnt actually wearing the hat during the deed, but the hat was in worn before and after haha) It would have been much more memorable if i had kept the hat on.
August 10, 200818 yr The second version (pure white as opposed to beige, with the home hat being black with a teal brim) is just about perfect. Good job to whomever designed it. Marlins Teal is about as natural as Dodgers Blue or Cardinals Red. I am disappointed in the current uniform's minimization of this team's true primary color. Marlins fans should be able to say they bleed teal! Seriously, we should all forward the second version of this proposal to the Marlins FO. It just about nails it.
August 15, 200818 yr Author Another nice concept.. More traditional to what they currently have and with the famous M Marlin logo.
August 15, 200818 yr Author I think the concept was building off the 97 team. Thats why I posted I figured people around here are old school and would like it. Its just fun to see Marlins concepts.
