Jason Wood-1B-Marlins Oct. 31 - 5:42 pm et

Jason Wood has taken a job as the hitting coach for the Dodgers' Single-A affiliate.

Wood spent all of 2007 with the Marlins and hit .239/.286/.368 in 117 at-bats. He made the team again last season, but he was dropped from the roster when Wes Helms was acquired on April 5 and was never recalled. The 38-year-old wraps up his career with a .245 average in 200 at-bats over parts of five seasons. He fell just two RBI short of reaching 1,000 in a long and distinguished minor league career.
