October 31, 200817 yr Jason Wood-1B-Marlins Oct. 31 - 5:42 pm et Jason Wood has taken a job as the hitting coach for the Dodgers' Single-A affiliate. Wood spent all of 2007 with the Marlins and hit .239/.286/.368 in 117 at-bats. He made the team again last season, but he was dropped from the roster when Wes Helms was acquired on April 5 and was never recalled. The 38-year-old wraps up his career with a .245 average in 200 at-bats over parts of five seasons. He fell just two RBI short of reaching 1,000 in a long and distinguished minor league career. c/o Rotoworld.

November 1, 200817 yr It's a shame the Marlins had Wes for Woody...he was very good in his limited time in the bigs, and just caught some bad breaks. Oh well, I'm happy he will keep on with a career in baseball at least.
November 3, 200817 yr After all those seasons in AAA for the Fish he had to be named an honorary citizen of Albuquerque, I sure he hopes he works his way back to AAA soon :cool
