January 2, 200917 yr lol, well it really was too tough to decide who should've won, both teams turned around dead franchises to the same exact records and a playoff spot, funny they shared it. Hell if they could've the Ravens coach Harbaugh should've been given a piece of the award :cool Congrats to all the coaches!
January 2, 200917 yr Haha, awesome. Couldn't have worked out better. Both of them deserved it and both of them got it. Congrats to both.
January 2, 200917 yr Parcells should win Executive VP of Football Operations of the year award Definitely.
January 3, 200917 yr Sparano deserves the award more. Atlanta was in just as much hell as miami. I disagree.
January 3, 200917 yr Sparano deserves the award more. Atlanta was in just as much hell as miami. I disagree. lol Atlanta had a coach that left without any notice, they had their franchise QB go to jail, there defense was terrible last year, and they had to start a rookie QB. There franchise was in dissaray just as much as the Dolphins were. Hell we had the advatange having an experienced QB.

LOL The Dolphins also had a coach that left without any notice (Saban), then had to deal with the worst coach in the NFL (Cameron). They had no franchise QB to have something bad happen to. The Dolphins as a whole were terrible last year. And Pennington was a waiver wire pickup in training camp.

There franchise was in dissaray just as much as the Dolphins were. Hell we had the advatange having an experienced QB. 1. Matt Ryan is a talented rookie QB. 2. The Falcons had signed Michael Turner before the season started. This guy was ALWAYS underrated. People tend to forget he led the NFL in YPC last season. 3. The Falcons actually had a #1 receiver to throw to. There was more talent on the Falcons team. Pennington was experienced...and well, that's it. He was cut by the Jets mainly b/c of Favre, but also b/c he was horrible last season. Not to mention he had major problems with his shoulder. The Dolphins best player, Ronnie Brown, was coming off a major injury. The two faces of the franchise (Taylor and Thomas) were traded. People seem to forget that the Dolphins began the season 0-2, and after a complete pounding in Arizona, Sparano and the rest of the coaching staff, basically, turned the season around when they put in the WildCat into the offense...so much so, that other teams began trying it. The fact that Michael Vick went to jail is pretty irrelevant, considering Vick wasn't a part of the team this year, and Atlanta already had drafted a QB in the 1st round as his replacement (Ryan).
January 4, 200917 yr Wow certainly plenty of argument between who had the better turnaround between Miami and Atlanta. Its simple - if Miami wins tomorrow against the Ravens then the answer is them. However if they lose then I reckon that both teams were equally impressive this year.
January 4, 200917 yr so...this thread is a fraud because mike smith was named coach of the year, beating sparano out by a vote
