(Enc doesn't even want to be here in my opinion and Pudge will get away, middle defense is important to this team= my choice being Castillo)

I really feel with Castro, pudge isn't so necessary. But it seems like Castillo is a perfect fit for our ballpark and this team built on speed defense and pitching. I think it will be hard for the Marlins to find another 2nd basemen if they can't hold on.

I vote Lee with I-Rod and Enc not coming back. Lee and Castillo are really a crap shoot, but I think they are both back depending on if we tender UU.

I think 3 of them will be out of here. Lee, Pudge, and Juan. Especially Pudge after readin this

 

Unless Ivan Rodriguez has a change of heart, forget that quaint notion of him taking less to re-sign with the Marlins. His agent, Scott Boras, told our Kevin Baxter on Tuesday, ``Pudge will consider giving the Marlins a hometown discount when the Marlins give a discount to people who live in Miami and buy tickets to the games.''

out of the four, i'd say pudge has the best shot. #2 would be lee, but that is pretty doubtful IMO.

 

castillo is sooo gone it's not even funny. it sounds like he doesn't want to be back. enc is tradebait, as is lee. i have my doubts about us re-signing pudge, but i think it's more likely than us keeping either of the other 3.

 

of course if we don't sign pudge, we should be able to keep dlee or maybe luis. luis is good for our park, but unfortunately it looks like he wants to be a yankee.

I say most likely D. Lee. PUdge is leaving, i know that. He has never been straight out when reporters asked him if he was going to stay with the team. Encarnacion is most likely gonna wanna leave, he doesn't feel a part of the team. He didn't even show up to the parade. I heard (not sure if it's true, but i heard) that Castillo got offered 10 million from the Yankees. Not only that, but I heard many stories of him leaving. I think D.Lee is most likely staying.

castillo not going to the parade despite being in town is a big reason why i'm sure he's not coming back.

castillo isnt going 2 get the amount of money that he wants-we'll see if he stays with the marlins bc of it.

Castillo is the most likely, because of his struggles in the WS and the lack of interest from most teams. If he asks too much, will likely have to settle with the Marlins and return.

 

I sincerely hope that Pudge will stay. Despite the rumors of him looking for money, I believe that we need him more than we can imagine. His sign-calling last season, especially in the playoffs, was invaluable to our young pitchers. With Redmond very likely gone, and Castro's troubles mounting, losing Pudge would leave us in a very bad position. Ramon Castro will not be able to replace Pudge in anyway if it comes to that. He might not even get that chance, if the trial doesn't favor him.

Derrek Lee is gone if he goes to arbitration. I can bet on it. There is no way we will pay him 7 million to play 1B when we can put Conine, who is already under contract, there. With Jason Stokes on the way, Conine would only need to fill in for a year, maybe two until he's ready.

Lee and Encarnacion

Castillo and Derek. They both had tremendous seasons and i know the marlins were thinking about trading them up to D.Lee put up those numbers. They will both stay.

 

Encarnacion will leave for sure...

I'm thinking that if he won't settle for 8 mill a year then its just not worth it.

 

Cabrera and Lowell knock in the runs, not Pudge. Pudge hit just below .300 and 16 HRs. The only reason I see for him making so much money is the way he calls the game.

 

Castro has yet to prove himself and he can do DAMAGE. Pudge and Castro grew up together, they must play somewhat similarly.

 

If Castro is free of charges, I see no reason to go after Pudge so much because there are many free agents to sign and one guy doesn't make the whole team.

 

I would love to have Pudge, but in order to keep him I'm not going to sacrifice the rest of the team, it just doesn't make sense.

Look at what Cabrera did in the playoffs! Pudge can't make up for the loss of 2 star players on our team.

What I'm really trying to say here is either Castillo or Pudge need to be kept, Marlins can't expect to win without both.

so keep Pudge over castillo-pudge is much better.
