25 WILD MARLIN PROSPECTS

I KNOW MORE ABOUT THE MARLINS THAN YOU DO. I CAN BE A DICK ON A FORUM BECAUSE IF I AM ONE IN REAL LIFE I'LL GET BEAT UP AND I AM SAFE FROM BEING BEAT UP HERE. YOU'RE WRONG AND I AM RIGHT.

It's nice to see that you care, but this is a terrible list.

What's with the ignorance and negativity on this board?

Especially after reading my 2nd post in this thread about what this isn't....glad to see people can read.

Just because people want to disagree on who should be the Top 11-25 prospects in our system. They are probably the ones who have never attended a minor league baseball game in their lives.

Negativity, sure. Ignorance, not in this case.

If you want somewhere where you can just post your opinion and people can't comment on it, get a diary. Otherwise, get over it.

Most people don't just comment "terrible list" without backing it up with some sort of analysis. Then again with your history of mediocre posts and wonderful knowledge of the Marlins farm system, things like this are expected. Have a great day- maybe one day you will make a list and I will leave a generic one word response like "stupid". :shifty

Heh, my history of mediocre posts is the reason for this:

That's right, I am the reigning "Best Florida Marlins Poster of the Year".

The reason I didn't add all the reasons your list is bad is because everyone said it already, which you just shot down as "my opinion".

Have a terrible day. I hope you run into a wall. (This is a joke, I actually hope you have a fine day and stray from walls.)

Wow thats a hilarious joke......

The real reason you didn't list the reasons my list is bad is because you don't understand the minor leagues as well as I do.

BTW, I hope your imaginary award makes you proud. You probably printed it out off your computer and placed it on your bookshelf above your Most Improved t-ball player trophy from 2002. :notworthy

This is exactly what's wrong with message boards.....just like what Timmy Hutton was saying about Marlin fans on TV yesterday- negativity.

Define prospect? Who cares what the meaning means- each would have a different meaning. Is Gaby Sanchez at age 25 a prospect? Where's the cut off? Are AAA players not considered prospects by the Marlins?

There is no defination of prospect. There is no age cut off. This is a minor league forum. So I included everyone in our system who has talent like Carlos Martinez.

It's not a big deal unless your bored.

It's not negativity, it's realism.

As for Gaby Sanchez...you're not seriously comparing what he's achieved to what Badenhop/Martinez have achieved, are you? And no, give it another year or two...and Gaby Sanchez will no longer be considered a prospect.

This hurts my feelings.

Also, this is me in real life:

My name is Raul, I go by Rab. I'm 5'11.5" and weigh 174 pounds. As you can tell by looking at my picture, that's not 174 pounds of fat, as I routinely work out. I've never lost a fight in my life and you'd probably not say this to me in real life, for two reasons. 1) People don't act like that in real life. 2) I'm a generally nice guy.

Anyone who says "I'm a nice guy" is generally not a nice guy. You sound pretty stuck on yourself actually.

"I'm Raul. I don't have any fat on my body. I'm the Lurry Award Winner 3 times. I never lost a fight in my life. I routinely work out."

Stop talking about yourself. Get over yourself. We don't care. This is a minor league forum NOT www.match.com.

theres a difference between having a discussion about baseball on a forum and just blatantly telling someone they are wrong and refusing to listen to their reasons. this is not a thread I dislike. I am interested in our top prospects and I came in wanting to see what was being discussed and I walk into another thread that turned into a petty argument and again the usual suspects are the cause.

I red a MiLB boxscore once, which based on your posts says I know more than you (This is a joke.)

Oh, and here is the award post: http://www.marlinsbaseball.com/forums/inde...amp;pid=1694762.

And yes, it's just a forum award, but I actually printed it out and put it next to me kindergarten graduation diploma. (This is a joke.)

We did mention our reasons as to why we thought it wasn't a good list. Apparently, you missed it.

Yes, the stuck up one is me, not the guy who posted a thread saying "THIS IS WHAT I THINK! EVERYONE READ! NO NEGATIVE OPINIONS ALLOWED!".

And no, I don't hide behind a screen name. I'm a real person.

Well, to be fair, I didn't in my first post. I later pointed out that my reasons are the same as everyone else's, but what can you do.

My name is Andrew, I go by Andrew. I'm 6'2 and weigh 270 pounds. As you can tell by looking at my picture, that's not 270 pounds of muscle, as I routinely eat a lot. (in all seriousness though, I am working out and have lost 34 pounds since December... ) I haven't been in a fight since 7th grade (which I won btw :thumbup ) and I wouldn't say it to you in real life because I don't like to start petty fights. people also say I am a nice guy too.

Well I have to go the gym, I have a life. I don't just hang around posting nonsense all day to win imaginary awards and up my all time career post count.

I try to post facts and analysis.

If you don't like this list Rab, then why spend 2 hours in this thread? I'll take that as a compliment. Have a wonderful evening, Raul.

I'm not saying you didn't list your reasons. I said you refuse to listen to other people's reasons. he was trying to explain why he chose the people he did and all you can say is "no sorry. you're wrong"

thats not a discussion.

You do look like a nice guy. Good luck with the weight loss to, that sh*t's hard, but once you've started (34 pounds in a few months is great) you'll probably be in great shape soon.

Yeah, I had that same problem a few years back, but my doc assured me I was real. (This was a joke.)

This post is full of funny.

"Well I have to go the gym, I have a life."

Thanks for making yourself feel better. FACT is, you've spent a lot of time today on the "no life board" that we're on.

"I try to post facts and analysis."

So do we.

"If you don't like this list Rab, why did you spend 2 hours on this thread?"

If you don't like people disagreeing with you (in an opiniated thread, nonetheless), why did you come to a message board, in the first place?

btw just wanted to state that the photo of me was done as a joke and I do not have any afiliation with the bloods gang or any other gang. :)

I did listen to his reasons. I just disagreed with his reasons.

And, sorry, but he is wrong. B/c on one post, he states that he knows, that at age 27, that Carlos Martinez isn't a prospect. Yet, he has him at #15 on a thread titled "WILD MARLIN PROSPECTS."

Well I have to go the gym, I have a life. I don't just hang around posting nonsense all day to win imaginary awards and up my all time career post count.

I thought we weren't supposed to mention working out, because it means one is self-centered. Plus, it's like 3 PM, just got off school a little bit ago, and I'm bored.

I try to post facts and analysis.

I now assume that you haven't actually seen me post. I usually get crap for posting too many stats.

Once again, bored, plus it's more like one hour. Later WildMarlinMan2003.

I spent a lot of time doing analysis today for real Marlin fans who might have an interest in our minor league system. Not to argue- in psychology you have the false fear of "I must always be right".

I don't mind people disagreeing with me like Marlins Lou, whom I respect as an avid minor league forum poster. He unsderstands how to back up his opinion. You have the mindset of a 2 year old- "terrible list, ok bye".

You have the mindset of a 2 year old- "terrible list, ok bye".

I TOLD YOU WHY I THOUGHT THE LIST WAS BAD.

F***. Some people on this board have turned really sensitive.

F***. Some people on this board have turned really sensitive.

I think it's due to the loss of the guys who were big posters before us. Now some of THOSE guys were dicks. New posters who didn't have a tough shell weren't able to last a week here before those guys got banned.

1. Mike Stanton

2. Logan Morrison

3. Matt Dominguez

4. Sean West

5. Kyle Skipworth

6. Chris Coghlan < - 2B over 1B

7. Gaby Sanchez

8. Ryan Tucker

9. Jose Ceda

10. Scott Cousins < - Top defensive, Top Power Potential outfielder

11. Aaron Thompson

12. Brad Hand

13. Isaac Galloway < - Highest upside outside the top 5

14. Jake Smolinksi < - Big omission. He'd be in most organizations top 10. Even higher if he transitions to 2B smoothly

15. Bryan Petersen < - Starter potential

16. John Raynor < - We care about upside, has to be behind the other OF. K rate is alarming

17. Chris Leroux < - Big omission. One of the best fastballs in system, already protected on 40 man

18. Dallas Trahern

19. Kyle Winters

20. Graham Taylor < I do not think there will ever be another Jamie Moyer

21. Brett Sinkbiel

22. PJ Dean < - Next four have serious breakout potential as low level starters

23. Kyle Kaminska

24. Alejandro Sanabia

25. Blake Brewer

Watch List - Hayes (solid backup type), Burns (tools), Olmos (big arm), Ceballos (age), Parcel (big arm), Wood (protected 40 man)

I respectfully say, I think you have a lot of work to do to familiarize yourself with the system. My list may not be perfect as I am doing it off the top of my head, but some of your names are like what??? Badenhop, Martinez, Andrelczyk, Fermin, Mobley, Gran, Langley, Doolittle, Allison, Hickman, Harvey, Mitchell, Korpi, and De Aza??? These are all fringe MLB bench players with relatively no potential to develop into average starters. They are all clearly in our top 30-50, if not farther back for some of them. It's unlikely any of them ever make a major impact, and we have a lot of players who can.

Let me start by saying.....I've always enjoyed MarlinsLou's posts.

However- that list is not accurate at all. It doesn't even make sense.

I disagree with almost everything but it's ok....

1) You have Trahern over Graham Taylor!?!? Thats the Marlins minor League Pitcher of the Year. And yes I've watched him pitch.

2) Bryan Petersen? Starter potential? Over John Raynor? Petersen is projected as a 27 on a scale of 80 contact rate.

3) John Raynor K rate? His speed is a 97 rating (102 steals last 2 years) and he has a career .313 minor league average and tore up the spring. Who cares about K's with an OPS of .886.

4) Coghlan vs. Gaby Sanchez? I disagree. I'll take Sanchez.

5) Matt Dominguez vs. West? I disagree. I'll take West.

As far as saying I listed a lot of fridge prospects......thats the point- we want to keep track of who's going to help us this season....and DeAza, Badenhop (who is much better than Trahern), and Martinez are BETTER at this point than Issac Galloway. The guy is overrated and hasn't proven ANYTHING at all so far.

You have to balance production with upside.

I disagree with your ratings but thanks for commenting.

I will update everyone's stats.

Trahern has a legitimate MLB out pitch with his sinker. Taylor throws junk and is going to get bombed like Petit anyday. Trahern could really break out getting out of the thin are in ALB. He has also been young for his level throughout his career. A lot of potential here that Taylor does not possess. I like Graham has a future 2nd lefty in pen/6th SP, but Trahern could turn into a legit 3/4 starter still.

Petersen has much more power, plate discipline, and defensive ability than Raynor. Raynor is going to be a low 700 OPS at best. He is a slap hitter. SB are relatively pointless as well. His BABIP was also over 400 last year, meaning he GREATLY OVERACHIEVED in Carolina. Missed that I guess. The bottom is dropping out soon. Cousins and Petersen are clearly ahead of him in longterm potential.

I have no problem with Gaby over Coghlan. They are relatively equal to me as project 'average' starters, but I'll take middle infield.

Everyone would take Dominguez over West. Everyone.

And I'd rather have the huge potential in Galloway, than get a 5th outfielder at best with De Aza, or a 7th long reliever like Badenhop (better than Trahern another lol. Trahern is light years younger and is going to get better).

The fact you have non-prospects like Gran, Andrelczyk, and Mitchell shows you really aren't getting it yet. You should look into Smolinksi, Dean, Leroux, Sanabia, and all the others and realize we have really serious guys here you are completely overlooking.
