I am not going to deny that last night's loss was sickening, and I was absolutely furious at the conclusion of the game.

However having reflected on a few things, it is important to consider this when evaluating our start to the season:

We should have won last night's game having been 3-0 after 8 innings.

We probably should not have won last Friday in Washington as we trailed 2-1 going into the 9th.

We should not have won last Saturday as we trailed 6-3 going into the 9th.

We probably should not have won last Sunday as we trailed 4-3 going into the 9th.

We possibly should not have beat the Mets in the 2-1 game as our runs were scored due to Murphy's error on a routine fly ball.

If things had worked out the way things should have gone in the afore mentioned games, we would currently be 8-8, instead we are 11-5.

As I said, we all know last night was horrible but it happens, and over the course of a 162 game season, we will win games which look unlikely and similarly we will lose games which we should have won.

This is true. But in the end, games that you should have and shouldn't have won won't matter. Just the games that you did win.

Regardless of how you think of it an L still hurts.

Then baseball isn't the sport for you, because even the best team ever (standings-wise) lost almost 30% of the time... everyone else falls much closer to 50... you take the wins like you take the losses, one game at a time.

Exactly. This is freaking baseball. Lucky breaks and stupid losses happen ALL THE TIME. Again, it's baseball.

Thats exacally what I do but that doesnt mean it doesnt hurt a little when the Marlins lose. If you care about the team regardless of what you do it hurts a little.

I think we would all agree that the loss hurts and losing games that you should have won makes it hurt even worse. But in the end, last night's game only counts for 1/162 of our total season. We've already had 3 straight 9th inning comebacks. All in all, I'm happy with where we are at. We're fine. We'll just go out there and hopefully win tonight.

Doesn't mean you can't feel like crap after a loss like that... It's baseball, passion is part of being a fan.

This is why, while it's ok for a loss to sting... it shouldn't sting for very long...

The sting depends on the person. For me It stings until we get our next WIN so far that hasn't happened in a while

Yes, I always expected things to catch up with us. The series with the Nats, we were very lucky. Now we are falling, which is to be expected a bit, but we are falling faster than what I would like. Right now, we are bleeding badly.
