Well, if your organization gets slammed

you slam right back...

Marlins president David Samson expressed surprise Thursday about critical comments attributed to Colorado Rockies chairman Charlie Monfort.

In an interview with mlb.com, Monfort said, `` If the World Series victor was based on organizations, we would win it practically ever year. We've got that strength internally. [Marlins owner] Jeffrey Loria goes in there and fires over 100 front-office people a week before spring training with no warning, no interviews, no process at all. I think their champagne has to taste pretty bittersweet. Ours has to taste a lot better than theirs because of the way we run our business.''

Samson said Loria was traveling Thursday and had not been informed of Monfort's comments. But Samson said, ``In no way did Jeffrey fire any front-office people. Quite the opposite, our record of loyalty is superb. I was shocked he had time to even comment on our organization when you would think that he would be spending most or all of his time seeing whether his team could again sniff .500.''

Great comeback by the midget.

Dave Samson continues to be my hero

Rockies are going down and their ownership group is getting ready to fire off the front office, so he should keep his mouth shut.

thats the beauty of winning a world series, the 2nd in 11 years. You can respond how Sampson did :cool

all the Rockies got is that '95 Wildcard pennant on their left field wall

it sounds cool when you read but if you were to hear him said he would sound gay like always, but that was a good comeback.

when my mom saw him talk during the postgame celebration she actually asked me why they were letting the little annoying gay man talk. :lol then i thought to myself "damn he does sound annoying". i dont want to say that he sounds gay though, i would say he sounds like he's a happy 12 year old you would see on a show like leave it to beaver or something like that

:lol :lol

Rockies should spend their time trying to keep their pitchers from getting shelled in that ballpark...How are they gonna win if they entertain offers for Wilson and Helton...

They are just pissed that Pierre kicked a** after leaving them and they are stuck with CJ

Monfort's comment is way, waaaayyyy out of left field. I wonder if Loria used to bully him out on the school playground when they were children...
