May 1, 200917 yr Lots of positives from this game, even if it's a loss: -Our hitters have been walking a lot the past few games. -Good offensive output against a good pitcher. -Defense. -Decent start from Graham Taylor. -Boni and Maybin showing signs of life lately. -Hanley getting into the game, meaning hopefully he's ready to return tomorrow.
May 1, 200917 yr marlins should have won this game...but oh well cant do anything about it now. gotta go out there tomorrow and win game 3.
May 1, 200917 yr Tough tough loss, big ups to Taylor on coming out and pitching a quality game 2 runs and 3 walks in only 5 innings is not a quality start and he was very lucky it wasnt worse
May 1, 200917 yr Great to see that boni is making for his lack of offense with amazing defense, By my count, he's seeing 4.25 pitches per AB, well above league average. He seems to be going much deeper into ABs, which will hopefully bring up that walk total eventually.
May 1, 200917 yr Its a shame we couldnt take advantage on a day when the Cubs pitchers were extremely wild. How wild were they? Emilio Bonifacio walked twice(and shockingly, the universe didnt implode).
May 2, 200917 yr Ah, the grand slam. Our bane this season. For a second start, Graham pitched well. It wasn't sterling silver, but it was a lot better than against the Phils. Shame that Hopper gave up those runs. Tomorrow's another day!
May 2, 200917 yr Tough one to swallow today. We got to harden and Taylor pitched decent. Such a shame to waste a productive day by both maybin and boni. thye both really seem to be coming around. But man i loved the d today. Hopefully hanley comes back and hits like cantu has.
