This is so awesome. That guy just used an opinion that is based on incorrect information as an example of a wrong opinion to prove that there's no such thing as a wrong opinion, and then he said it isn't an opinion because it is wrong.

If someone doesn't believe in gravity...that is an opinion. (a wrong opinion...b/c it has been proven. Seriously, it's not difficult)

 

I'll put it to you like this...

 

If I were to say "Favre is not going to play this upcoming season" , which is an opinion, and he ends up playing this season technically I predicted that incorrectly. But, before the season started I simply had an opinion on the issue of whether or not Favre would play this season. My opinion isnt right or wrong, its simply my perception of the situation.

 

If I see he joins the Vikings and starts playing this season and I say "Favre is not going to play this upcoming season" already having known hes coming back to play then I would be making a false statement, its not an opinion anymore, its a fact.

Actually it's more like "I think Proctor is going to be ready by September, he's a fast healer". It's obvious that he's not going to, as it takes at least 9 months to come back from Tommy John, even for a fast healer. The opinion isn't wrong, as it can't be wrong, but it is badly founded and a "bad opinion".

Nobody has said you can't have opinions, I don't know where you are getting that idea. But when an opinion can be fact checked (like with gravity, or baseball stats) then yes, the facts of an opinion can be factually incorrect, and from there what's the difference between that and 'wrong'?

 

You had no problem with proclaiming someone who didn't believe in gravity wrong, yet it is a belief all the same.
