May 26, 200917 yr Probably not the impact move fans are looking for, but the Marlins added former Padres right-hander Clay Hensley to the Triple-A New Orleans rotation this week. Hensley, who turns 30 in August, made his Zephyrs debut Monday, getting the start at Las Vegas and allowing four runs on seven hits with a walk and a strikeout over five innings. He opened the season at Triple-A Round Rock, where in six games (one start) he was 1-0 with a 7.20 ERA, seven walks and five strikeouts in 10 innings with a .324 opponents' batting average. A product of Lamar Univeristy like current Marlins right-hander Brian Sanches, Hensley can boast 106 games (40 starts) of major league experience, all with the Padres from 2005-08. He has a 4.09 lifetime ERA with 150 walks and 206 strikeouts in 323 2/3 innings. To make room for Hensley, the Marlins released West Palm Beach native and University of North Florida product Mike Wood. http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_baseball_marlins/2009/05/florida-marlins-former-padres-rhp-clay-hensley-joins-aaa-staff.html
May 26, 200917 yr Hensley has been pretty good in the majors at times. He struggled the last two years in the majors but he's a lot better option than guys like John Koronka.
May 27, 200917 yr Championship. Also, the Sun Sentinel is a bit late on this. Hensley was on the Z's roster a few days ago.
May 27, 200917 yr We also signed Gary Glover. Oh yea? Well hand us the world series now, and forget about playing the rest of the way! No need!
May 27, 200917 yr I love how they are making all of these potential depth moves now instead of before the season like every other team did. Is there any better sign that the FO is freaking out?
May 27, 200917 yr We also signed Gary Glover. And about a week ago, IF Gookie Dawkins. I just noticed that, any chance he's going to spell Hanley for a few days??!?!?!?

I'm sure there's a better option somewhere in our system....heck, they could always have Bonifacio at SS, Helms at 3B and then call someone up to play back-up IF.

The only reason this is happening now is because guys are getting hurt and there has been a lot of shuffling between the minors and the majors lately. They just need guys to fill spots. This is hardly freaking out and all the rosters were full at the start of the season, so I'm not sure what you mean by them making moves like this now as opposed to before the season.....we had depth then.
