  1. What a disgrace. Should of just packed up and left for Vegas.
  2. I'm gonna miss him sliding for balls 50ft away from him every night in Right Field ...
  3. See ya, Mr. Potential.
  4. Unless he gets back on The Juice and takes a pay cut ... no thanks.
  5. That's great news. He needs to work year round to build up his confidence. Does anyone have a schedule for his team? Any trips to Jupiter? It's the Arizona Fall League. BTW, has anyone heard anything on the winter league that's starting down here? A man can dream, can't he? Don't think I can survive until February without baseball. That Miami team just doesn't cut it. Any other alternatives?

  7. Nothing like winning the batting title by having your manager sit you for days on the last weekend of the season. I know, he should have totally played with that right knee contusion just to make us all happy! Please. You mean a bruise? Oh, poor baby. Nolasco showed heart in his last outing, throwing way more pitches than he should have. Hanley just sat so he could keep his meaningless stat in place. Talk about a disappointment.

  9. Great game for Cameron. Too bad he can only help the team when the season is over for us.
  10. A shame JJ didn't get win number 16 but at least we won the ballgame in the end. Maybin seems to be doing slightly better of late and is batting .269 in September (not great I know, but definately a step in the right direction). I expect much better in 2010. The same goes for Miller. There's no post-season without these two contributing.
  11. Marlins win 5-4! Maybin and Uggla homered, Cantu drove in the winning single. Leo Nunez now has 25 saves. Wow. (why isn't anyone rushing to do the post game threads anymore?)
  12. Damn, even MarlinsBaseball.com gave up and changed their "Changing October" banner.
  13. Volstad gave up 3 runs in 4 innings (including his 29th HR allowed this year) to a below average Mets lineup. The offense sucked, but don't pretend as if Volstad "kept us in the game." Francour is not below average and he did all the damage other than lucky Misch He is below average. Hell, he's basically Hermida. Hermida is actually better than Fenchy! That says a lot.
  14. BTW, with yesterday's game, the last 3 home games of the season brought out 105,486 fans. As many on here (including myself) noted, even though it was against the Mets it was easily mostly Marlins fans. This is the 3rd most in franchise history behind 1997 (114,292) and 1993 (126,193). 2003, also against the Mets, brought out 90,948 fans. That's good stuff. Get back to me when it's not a New York team. Why does it matter if it was mostly Marlin fans there for a NY team? Did you poll everyone in attendance? I doubt it. Again, give me those numbers when it's not a New York team and/or last year's World Series team.

  17. Marlins lose. Are we still at least statistically in it?
  18. You dwell way too much. That was 2007 and the last time I had watched baseball was in 2001. At least I was right about one of them (I love Cody!)...
  19. Carroll should have already been in the starting lineup all year this year. Its the same thing with Ross a few years ago. They are afraid to play him everyday or something, i dunno. It's because the fans and management have some sick love affair with bums with "potential". Meanwhile it's been forever and guys like Hermida still stink it up all season long. And Ross Gload should be our starting 1B too, right? With Helms starting at 3rd. Sorry Rabb, keep on waiting for Hermida to fulfill his amazing potential. I'll sit back and enjoy Carroll coming through in the clutch (Ross, too).

  21. That was an awesome ending. I remember being laughed at for suggesting Brett get some playing time instead of Cameron Maybin early in the season. I guess all your saber metrics didn't help because Brett is one day going to be an everyday player and Cameron is STILL a bum.
  22. The users here make me laugh. Anytime some scrub gets cut or some trouble maker is out of a job we come here begging for them to join the Fish. I'd rather take Gary Sheffield's broken down bat and bad attitude over Bradley.
  23. What is more depressing,is that philly win. it is over. It was over in May. Can't win without pitching. So when we got to 3 games back in the WC in August were you sitting at home thinking "Damn this season has been over for 3 months now"??? Please stop with all the negativity, stop all the Maybin bashing and go and follow a team like the Red Sox or Yankees. They had one hell of a run but even if by some ridiculous miracle we made the playoffs, it would have been a first round sweep. No chance for a team with no payroll and scrub pitching to win anything. Stop living in a fantasy world.

  25. Without reliable pitching, absolutely not. We won't go anywhere with hot bats and one good starter. Hanley and Coghlan can't carry the team forever and that leaves Nolasco, Volstad, and others to blow it.
