October 5, 200916 yr Won the batting title by .015. First batting title in Marlins history. First shortstop to win a NL batting title since 1960. Only the forth shortstop to win a NL batting title. So, congrats to Hanley, the National League Batting King!
October 5, 200916 yr Author congrats to Hanley. Now lets fix those fielding problems Are you stuck in 2007?
October 5, 200916 yr congrats to Hanley. Now lets fix those fielding problems Are you stuck in 2007? He really picked up his defense this year. Some credit goes to Andy Fox for that. More agressive towards the ball , which has always been a problem with him in the past. But there were alot of plays I felt he could have made and was a little nonchalant towards. Like only half trying. Maybe they were on days where he wasn't feeling in top shape, were just bad days, had an argument with his wife, whatever....... But that would mean he has alot of bad days, so I'm not really buying into that. The best give 100% every game, every day. Fix those fielding problems? Nope. Fix the attitude. Personally, I'm glad Wes will be around another year to help keep Hanley's ego in check as much as possable.

He had what? 9 or 10 errors? It was a probably combination of his paying more attention to defense and not having Mike Jacobs over at first base. But congrats to Hanley on an awesome year all around!

October 5, 200916 yr Nothing like winning the batting title by having your manager sit you for days on the last weekend of the season. Youre a joke! Hanley still gets it even his plays everyday... :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy Congrats hanley!

October 5, 200916 yr Wooh! Congrats Hanley! Someone put the BK King crown on Hanley. He will have to go to Korea and steal it from Mr Kim first

I know, he should have totally played with that right knee contusion just to make us all happy! Please. You mean a bruise? Oh, poor baby. Nolasco showed heart in his last outing, throwing way more pitches than he should have. Hanley just sat so he could keep his meaningless stat in place. Talk about a disappointment.
October 5, 200916 yr Awesome year by Hanley for his first season batting 3rd. Should be an MVP candidate for the next 5 or more years... because you know that power is only going up.
October 5, 200916 yr Nolasco showed heart in his last outing, throwing way more pitches than he should have. ...since he was trying to tie/break the record for strike outs in a game. Nolasco was left in for his own personal gain.
October 5, 200916 yr Author Nothing like winning the batting title by having your manager sit you for days on the last weekend of the season. Hanley hurt his knee unselfishly stealing 3rd base so that Cantu would get his 100th RBI. Best part is that the stupidity of the "Hanley needs to play hurt" made him keep playing in the game until he hurt it more in his next AB. Oh, and here's the kicker: It's super well known that Hanley had selfish reasons for wanting to stay in that game and play yesterday. 1) He had already locked up the batting title with a bad game from both Pujols and Panda on Saturday. (He could have gone 0-7 and they could have both gone 7-7 and he still would have won.) 2) He really (selfishly, I might add) wanted 200 hits and he only ended up 3 hits short with 7 PA left). If he could have played he would have for his one selfish reasons.

Hint: The whole "brothers" thing is bulls***.
October 5, 200916 yr The best give 100% every game, every day. Like Bonifacio? If that's the case, give me guys who "aren't playing at 100% everyday."

I read somewhere that Hanley doesn't like to throw himself too much at balls because he has that bad shoulder. Apparently whenever he dives for balls he risks aggravating it. I'll take a lesser defender in order to keep him at the plate.

October 5, 200916 yr congrats ramirez and the rest of the crew. You guys had a great year especially Ramirez, Johnson and Coughlan.
October 8, 200916 yr First batting title in Marlins history! Hooray! Congrats Hanley. May you have 10 more like those in a Fish uniform. Does anyone think he is in the discussion for the gold glove?
October 8, 200916 yr You just gotta love Hanley Ramirez. I dont see why people are getting worked up over his power decrese, he is a great hitter who will run into a few every now and then. He plays in Landshark which isn't the new YS by any means so it would seem obvious that his power numbers would fluctuate between seasons, but his average went up .041 from last season. So lets be happy folksss... Congrats Hanley
