June 10, 200917 yr 1. Hermida is average defensively, PWG just showed us that. 2. BA and RBIs don't matter. Hermida has a .360 OBP, which is very good. Also, RBIs are team dependant stats. Usually, he bats second( no RBI opportunities), or in the bottom of the lineup. Again, no RBI opportunities either. 3. Hermida's career hasn't been great, but he's only 25. Carrol is 26. There is a reason Hermida is receiving more playing time than Carrol. Younger, more potential, and better track record. 4. You obviously don't know how to read stats.

June 10, 200917 yr Author Wow good game last night. I was downtown Orlando watching the Finals (my team) and Hermida came through in the clutch. I will be happy to say I'm wrong about Hermida if he continues to hit and actually live up to his potential. Look, I am a Marlins fan. I used to love Hermida in the minors when he walked over 100 times. I just don't think he has the fire in him that some players do to become good. I hope I am wrong and Go Marlins! (Bonifacio still sucks despite one lucky game). He should be a utility player; not a starter.

I stated that I only rag on Hermida because I am usually just a reader, not a poster on the message board. I usually dont post on other topics b/c I usually agree dead on with what ERICK has to say on other issues and I just dont want to repeat the same views over and over again. Quick question ERICK, do you think Hermida is an average defensive RF? Defensive stats are very deceptive, based on watching alomst every one of his major league games, there is no way an intelligent marlins fans as yourself can call him average.
June 10, 200917 yr He's clumsy, so when he messes up it looks worse than most guys. A bad play is a bad play no matter how bad it looks. You don't get extra points for looking good. He's notthe worst defensive outfielder in the world. He's makes most plays he should and every once in a while looks really bad. This is made worse by being in rf. Put him in left an he'll be pretty decent. And there's no way an intelligent marlins fan can think that Carroll or bonifaio deserve to push hermida to the bench. He's shown infinitely more than either at the major league level.. There's no way an intelligent baseball fan would criticize a player for happening to hit well whn his team sucks. That's idiotic. There's no way an intelligent baseball fan could say that the 5tj best hitter on our team should be benches. You are not an intelligent baseball fan. And you are the definition of a troll and have been nothing more on this board since 07. It shouldn't be tolerated, and yet it is.
