He's having a dreadful year in 167 At-bats at AAA Oklahoma, putting up a .246/.287/.335 (.622) line in with only 2 homers and a 10/56 BB/K ratio. He's not getting any younger at 24 either, so you can't really say it's an age thing.

I was pretty much predicting what he's doing now. He has great stuff, as apparent by his K-numbers, but Helen Keller has a better idea of where the strike zone is.
June 17, 200917 yr Salty really isn't doing anything close to impressive either. He may yet pan out long term but he has been the most over-rated prospect (note: did not say bust, that is TBD) in recent memory because he had one outstanding season in the lower minors which he never followed up, in addition to a very unique and hard to forget name. Over the last several years he has struck out in nearly 1/3 of his plate appearances and his offensive production has been well below average even for the catcher position. He could very well end up being a late bloomer like Todd Hundley, but the numbers have not matched the hype since his time in High A.
June 17, 200917 yr There's a decent chance that Teagarden, Salty and Max don't pan out into above average catchers. Just when Salty puts the Defense together he continues to struggle at the plate. Ramirez's only strength is the stick and he's 622 OPSing in AAA at 24. And Teagadren, althought flashing the best glove, hasn't hit since 07. I guess my money's on Teagarden, but the C position in TEX might not be as bright as we all thought.

June 17, 200917 yr I would love to acquire Max Ramirez still. He would drastically help our C/1B/3B depth chart and gives us a lot of flexibility going into the next few years.
