7-12-2009...Marlins @ Diamondbacks

Featured Replies

I've been saying on many different sites for weeks now that we should get Freddy. He would be a spectacular fit. The only bad thing is the $$$

He makes a lot of money and plays a position we don't need. A 3B or a LFer would be nice.

I really dont see the marlins acquring a productive bat.

They should have brought up Cameron Maybin by now. Slide Cody Ross back to right field, and the Hermida/Carroll platoon back to left field. But the front office is too concerned about arbitration. Coghlan turns into a bench player (even though that should be Bonifacio's job).

what do you guys think about going after a guy like freddy sanchez? pirates are very open about trading him.

Last thing we need is a 2B.

id rather have him than uggla no doubt.

I bet you would, because you are basing thing on batting average and the last few months. But Uggla has been, and there is very little discussion here, the 2nd best offensive 2B in the league since his debut and since last season has been a pretty good defensive 2B.

And even without him, we still have a 2nd 2B who is playing in LF, a position that not only is he bad in defensively, but doesn't have the power production to play at. And THEN, we have ANOTHER 2B who is playing 3B, where he's horrible defensively and also doesn't have the power to play at. We have three 2B on this team, two of them taking up power positions without any power.

No, im also basing things on his limited range, amount of money he is owed, age, performance in the last calender year, the type of bat this team needs, and the type of bat uggla is. We have quite enough power, we need more consistency as the biggest need for the offensive side of this team, and uggla doesnt provide that and sanchez does.

The front office is doing exactly what they should be in regards to Cameron. I'd rather have a more polished player the rest of the season plus another year of him then a less polished player and a year less in time till he is a free agent. And i don't think Cogs will go to the bench, I definitely think Jeremy will be traded.
