What any given radio or TV announcer does has nothing at all to do with what the team and their many tons of equipment do when they're on the road. The colloquial term "charter" understates or misstates reality. I can pick up a phone and charter a flight. A ML team "charter" flight is the result of a contract for the entire season. As in an aircraft dedicated to the sole use of the team.
