Brett Carroll and Gaby Sanchez demoted

Featured Replies

Why not send down Sanchez to make room for Johnson and Sanches for Lindstrom.

They haven't used much of either of them.

Brian Sanches has been better than Lindstrom though./

Yeah but we haven't been using him since we signed Ayala and Donnelly so whats the point of letting him rot, I agree with Gaby being called down but B.C. was doing a good job at platooning with Hermida and coming in as a defensive replacement late in the games.

Well someone is going to have to start on Cody's days off, and a Boni/Ross CF/RF combo wouldn't be that much worse than a Ross/Hermida combo against LHP.

And if we sent Boni down instead of BC we would have no backup at SS or 2B, unless you count Coghlan.

Coghlan can't be counted since he can't play SS.

If any reliever gets sent down for Lindstrom, it's gotta be Ayala.

It would be unfair to Brian Sanches, and bottom line is...Ayala is only useful against right-handers. Throw him against lefties, and you might as well give the game to the opponent (as was shown last night).

But Coghlan can play 2B. And if we needed an immediate backup at SS and we didn't have Bonifacio, Coghlan would probably be our best option.

Then we wouldn't have an extra arm, which we might need since we won't have a long reliever.

BC needs to be back up asap.

They'll probably bring Maybin back up instead after tomorrows game.

I'm assuming they only intend on having 13 pitchers as a backup just in case the hopper gets rocked.

Then bring BC back up. But you never know, they might take that chance and just bring Maybin up.

Not sure if he ever even played it in the minors, but I doubt it.

Cantu's played 1 game at SS in his career...for what it's worth.

Lindstrom, Pinto, Ayala, Donnelly, Kiko, Meyer and Leo.

That's good enough for now but I guess they are moving Sanches into the LR role since Badenhop is in the rotation.

Then Boni will be playing plenty of OF with B.C. down.

I don't like it but that's the way it's probably going to be.

I really don't think Carroll will be down much more than the ten day minimum.

Yeah by then they'll probably make a decision on the 5th starter weather it's Badenhop, West or Miller.

Then one bullpen pitcher will be called down and B.C. back up.

I really don't think Carroll will be down much more than the ten day minimum.

I see them using it as an excuse to finally bring Maybin back up after tomorrows game.

Because I think they really need to worry about a 4th outfielder.

As of now it's Ross, Hermida, Coghlan, Boni and if we need him to Gload can play RF.

West? Miller?

What makes you think any 1 of those guys is coming back up anytime soon? Also...isn't Miller on the DL?

And LF...Wes can also play LF, if needed.

I know that, but I don't see how they can be comfortable with anyone other than Cody playing center, and expect to compete.

Your right he is.

We could keep Hopper in the rotation I guess and keep the relievers we have.

also all black marlins hat, Maybin will not be up soon. He will be called up in September, if you want an answer, it is because of the Super Two (or w/e they call it). Basically keeping him down until September allows us to keep Maybin longer and for cheaper.

  • Author

Btw, I highly doubt they call Maybin up before September.

As MarlinsLou has stated before, waiting on calling up Maybin gives us another year I believe before Maybin hits arbritration. So I highly doubt they call Maybin up right now, unless they need him to start.

If they were worried about a 4th outfielder for a game or two BC wouldn't have been sent down, but they're not as Bonafacio is available. In any case, there is an exception to the 10-day rule if an OF has to be put on the DL.

There is very little chance Maybin comes up before September when the unknown Super 2 stuff could cost $2-3 million down the road for 4 weeks of service this August.

BC probably comes back 10 days from now.
