August 30, 200916 yr Here the OPS for these players in August: Cantu: .622 Uggla: .907 Ross: .874 Herms: .891 Bake: .788 Paulino: 1.030 Chris Coghlan would be a good choice I think, but he's better suited for leadoff right now. However though, if when Cameron Maybin comes up in September and performs akin to his AAA numbers this year, we could see Maybin batting everyday (or platooning with maybe Hermida) in the leadoff position and try having Coghlan bat 4th, Coghlan OPS: 1.049
August 30, 200916 yr Not a big fan of Coghlan hitting 4th... If you ask me, I think Cody Ross, with his play this year, has earned an opportunity to hit 4th. I think he's the best option we, currently, have.
August 30, 200916 yr it just seems to me that cantu this year really has been swinging at a lot of bad pitches that he didnt last year. whenever he is ahead in the count say 2-0 or 3-1 he alwayyyysssss swings at the next pitch even when its bad and that really hurts his OBP. i look for him to have a big september.
August 31, 200916 yr i really like cantu but he hasn't been getting it done (power-wise) this season so i think i'd put uggla 4th, baker 5th, and cantu 6th. maybe if he gets his stroke back i'd put cantu back at the 4th but i don't see him ever hitting 29 homeruns again......maybe around the 20 homerun range i still believe that wrist injury he got in april has something to do with the lack of power because he had like 7 homeruns before that and a combined 6 during a 4 month span afterwards. fu.ckin daniel cabrera
August 31, 200916 yr Against RHP: Uggla Against LHP: Ross/Cantu. One of them batting 4th and the other one 5th.

August 31, 200916 yr I voted for Cody. Something I saw the other day about Uggla suprised me (in a negative way) - of his 23 homers, I think roughly 16 or 17 of them have been solo shots.
