ARod....?

Featured Replies

Hold on, hold on! This is just PURE SPECULATION. I do not want in any way ARod to be on this team - not with that contract. No thank you.

But I think A Rod will be dealt. He is making way too much money. But just out of curiousity, if the Marlins traded a couple players for A Rod, and got him at $10MM a year for the remainder of his contract, would you do it? Heck, would the Rangers do it? They would be saving about $70MM on the remaining $179MM he has left. Just a thought...we have Lee, Gonzalez, and Enc or even Redman expendable...

remember, just a thought...

nothing else...

dont crucify me...

just curious...

ok, you can go now...

I like the thought if he can somehow restructure his deal.

He might also Accept (he ahs a NTC) to go to The fish since he lived in Miami i Believe and went to UM...

I think they'd rather keep him than pay him $100 Mill to play in Miami.

Although, you never know. If they just want out of his contract (Colorado/Hampton), then I wouldn't doubt it.

I'll tell you a story about A-Rod free agent tour back in 2000(right?), before Texas blew everybody out of the water with that contract offer, the "rumors" were flying around about a mystery team. I don't know this to be fact or not BUT it was said John Herny wanted to make a splash in this market by trying to get A-Rod. A-Rod had told his friends about playing close to home was very important to him. People assumed it was Atlanta seeing Florida nor Tampa were thought to be able to compete in a bidding war of that magnitude. WRONG, Florida was the team according to people close to A-Rod and John Henry. All I know is before he signed with Texas is that he had plans to tour Florida. I don't know what Henry would have offered or how much A-Rod wanted to be a Fish....just another untold story :cool

Knowing he is a local boy, and seeing him at all those playoffs games when we made our run for the championship, I felt something was up.

This is a pipe dream at this point. In fact, I dont know if I would want A Rod at 10-15MM per even. That said, if all of a sudden the Marlins have some free money hanging around and A Rod is still being shopped, the situation becomes a little more interesting.

I dont see why the Red Sox would trade Nomar for A Rod. It doesnt make sense...

He never went to UM MarlinDude.

However, ARod used to jump the fences to watch the UM Hurricanes play baseball at Mark Light Field as a kid growing up in Miami. He donated 3 million to a stadium renovation there, & it will then be known as "Mark Light Stadium at Alex Rodriguez Park".

He obviously has strong ties to his home here.

Hey, stranger things have happened. I didn't think there was a chance in helll that Pudge would've ended up here.

But it would take a deal of mammoth proportions though for the Marlins, & even then, the pay cut ARod would have to take, the players union would never let him do it.

Let me make this clear for those of you who are financially challenged.

There is zero, zilch, nada, no chance of ARod becoming a Marlin.

The reasons are endless but they start and end with money.
