Game of the Year

Featured Replies

I really hope I am not forgetting any nominees. If you all can think of any others, then please post them here.

that arizona game was incredible !!!! and i knew before brett hit that HR that if he got his pitch it was gone i called it. after that it was all florida

although in baseball two things make me very happy , 1 is the marlins winning and two is the chicago cubs losing and to get both in one is tops =)

The Arizona game was great, but nothing tops the back to back jacks against the Cubs.

I voted for the Cubs game. I had just arrived in Florida a couple of days before and I was watching that Sunday game in the lounge of the big-ass house we were staying in as Cody and Uggla went back to back to win. The fact it was against Kevin Gregg made it even better.

Ross Gload walk off home run against the Braves and Rafael Soriano. Highlight of the season for me.

Also may want to add this

Another possibility, Wes Helms walk off on http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/wrap.jsp?ymd=20090902&content_id=6761022&vkey=wrapup2005&fext=.jsp&team=home&c_id=fla

day after the Uggla/Helms/some of the team vs Hanley fight.

First of all, Johnson did not "outduel " Santana on April 12th. Johnson gave up 5 hits to 3 for Santana, he had 7 K's to Santanas 13 K's and 1 earned run to Sanatas 0 earned runs. He won because of Murphys drop of an easy fly ball letting 2 unearned runs score. Anyway the game of the year was the back to back "jacks" against the cubs.

Johnson did out-duel Santana. You should only compare them for the innings they both pitched together because then its not fair to JJ. Santana pitched 7 innings, so if you look at JJ's first 7 (he did a complete game) you will see that JJ gave up 2 hits and 0 ER. Not going to mention the K's because obviously Santana had more. The error in the 2nd inning allowed two runs to score, but on different plays. Santana allowed a hit to Paulino right after the error occured which scored the 2nd run. JJ was dominant in that game until he got a little shaky in the 9th. He definetly outdueled Santana.

I voted for the Cubs game. I was at my dad's house watching it with him and we both went crazy after the homeruns. fun times.

It probably wasn't as memorable as the ones mentioned, but Nolasco's 16 K performance was pretty impressive. I enjoyed that game.

I agree with the Cubs game, though.

I voted for Noly's 16K's. I will take a well pitched game over a slugfest any day, especially since Ricky's dominance over the Braves was so unexpected. I was just hoping that, with the success McCann, Chipper and others have had against Ricky in the past, we would win the game.
