January 11, 201016 yr What exactly do you want them to do? The only offseason move I want to see done right now is sign JJ long term, and they are back to working on that. We are still shopping around Uggla as well.

The team traded Hermida and Lindstrom and received 5 players, have signed around a dozen minor league free agents, tendered contracts to Paulino and Nolasco, are dealing with the insanity of Sosnick with a longterm contract for JJ, made a significant bid for Chapman that a bidding war negated, offered Gload a contract which he turned down, are dealing with 5 (Uggla, Cantu, Russ, Nunez, Anibal) other arbitration cases, and negotiated a deal to play games in Puerto Rico. On paper, the team looks like this right now C - Baker 1B - G. Sanchez 2B - Uggla SS - Hanley 3B - Cantu LF - Coghlan CF - Maybin RF - Ross B - Bonifacio, Jimenez, Helms, Paulino, Carroll SP - Johnson SP - Nolasco SP - Volstad SP - West SP - Miller/Anibal RP - Nunez RP - Meyer RP - Sanches Other 4 reliever competition - Loser of Anibal/Miller, Badenhop, Vanden Hurk, Leroux, Wood, Penn, H. Jones, Tankeresley, and MILB street FA AAA In Season Depth - Morrison, Petersen, Hayes, Tucker, and the slew of bullpen arms. In AA Stanton, Cousins, Dominguez, Winters, Cishek, Voss, Parcell, and more arms are lurking. You complain about moves, I say where? We have to give innings and groom the young starters to see what we have. We have a full position player roster right now as long as Jimenez doesn't stink (but then we signed Richar who could fill in a little bit). We likewise have a ton of pitchers out of options (Vanden Hurk, Penn, I believe Tank) that it's now or never so we need to try them in the bullpen. We don't need anything so your criticism of them not doing anything is who cares? It would have been nice to keep Kiko on a 1 year deal, but that's about it. And that's not really an enormous loss to slam them about. If they finally suck it up and give Johnson 4 years, that basically means a perfect offseason for me. That's the most important thing this team needs to do next to playing the kids and seeing what we have.
