Probable Pitchers

Nate Robertson

LHP (2-0, 2.20)

Aaron Cook

RHP (0-2, 7.53)

Marlins: After pitching in 50-degree temperatures in Philadelphia last Sunday, Robertson said: "This is my kind of weather." Formerly with the Tigers, Robertson is used to pitching in the cold. He likely will have some more in his start at Colorado. The lefty comes off an efficient outing, working 6 1/3 shutout innings at a tough place to pitch -- Citizens Bank Park. Coors Field will present another challenge. Robertson has shown craftiness, like he did in his last start, working around four walks.

Rockies: In order for Cook to be successful, the right-hander needs to pound the strike zone with a heavy sinker, get hitters to chase it and induce groundouts. When that doesn't happen -- and it hasn't happened consistently enough in 2010 -- Cook struggles. That's what occurred in his last outing Monday at Washington. Cook was tagged for five runs on seven hits in three innings, walking four and forcing manager Jim Tracy to go to his bullpen earlier than he wanted. Cook has won 27 games in since 2008, so he knows how to go deep into games in a pitch-efficient manner. The Rockies need him to regain his ability to be an innings-eating anchor to their rotation.
