There's an article on Florida's site about their relative success against the American League. Let's represent the National League proudly and own the AL. Maybe this year we can finally take the All-Star game too.

With the Rangers coming to town next month, it got me wondering when was the last time we went to Arlington? I'm pretty sure we haven't in the 5 years (start of the 2006 season) I've followed baseball and the Marlins

I am new here and a White Sox fan (I consider the Marlins my #2 team and I am trying to get more involved as I am moving to Florida in a few years). I can say this much, the Marlins should be able to take at least 2 of the 3 against the White Sox. We're just BAD right now.

is the Sox problem pitching or hitting? you think they'll be high scoring games?

Both pitching and hitting are terrible right now.

The starters are sketchy at best right now and we have a closer with an ERA over 6! Jon Danks is the only Sox pitching doing much of anything, but Garcia hasnt been too bad. Mark Buehrle hasnt been the same since his perfect game last season.

 

The hitting has been really bad as well. Key players cant get a hit to save their lives. The team had potential to be great based on the amount of talent, but they havent lived up to it. They have only 3 everyday plays hitting above .240.

 

If i had to pick, I'd say high marlins scoring (5 runs a game) with low Sox scoring (2-3 runs a game)

I wonder if Kotsay will finally turn it around? I see his batting average has gone up a bit, but still only batting round .180. Everytime Kotsay gets a hit I be confused as to cheer or boo.

I hate Interleague Play. It jus throws off the balance in baseball

The Sox may be struggling, but they're a lot like their skipper Oz - somewhat wild and unpredictable. The Fish will need great effort to win the series in Chi-town.

I don't hate it really,I kinda wish they would just do away with a couple of the series though. Knock it down to maybe just two for each team. Like the Rays for us and one other team each year.

Interleague with the Rays makes sense, we could just take the bus.:thumbup

I would prefer to see more interleague play. It's more interesting when two teams who rarely play each other meet up.

 

I agree that we SHOULD be more than able to take 2 of 3 from CHW. They're a total mess right now, in all aspects of the game.

I like it, get a chance to see some teams I'd never be able to watch, especially since Espn and fox only play Mets, Phillies, Yankees, Red Sox, and Angels games. The in-state rivalry series like the Rays are kind of sketchy because they don't rotate year to year like the other interleague games.

I agree with the second part, but I prefer interleague being relatively rare. It's more important to play your own league and take care of the other guys later.

So, is now a good time to eat crow on how bad the Sox have been playing? lol

 

On a serious note, today is how the Sox were SUPPOSED to be playing all year. This team was built to be a centered around pitching with a line-up that plays "small ball" / "grinder" baseball (or as we like to call it "Ozzie ball"). When needed they could drop a log bomb on the opposition. Tonight was a microcosm of what this team was built to do, but mostly has not.

That stereotype is mostly no longer true. As recent as 10 years ago that might have been true, btu in the past 10 years most of 'the projects" (you could call them slums) have been torn down, the neighborhood around the park has gentrified, and there are plans to build middle income housing in the area. It's an area on the rebound. Sure, there are areas around the cell that are less than delightful, but in general the area is MUCH better than it used to be.
