I'd be interested to know who you think the white sox should bat 2nd and play 3rd Beckham was penciled in to bat 2nd but was brutal this year... they have nobody else to put there. Vizquel isn't having a bad year and is a great defender. Ozzie likes to run.. with coghlan, hanley, stanton, boner and maybin all potentially starting and with plus speed, we will be very dangerous on the base paths. I don't see it as a negative. Ozzie is a small ball/"grinder" kind of manager. He doesnt like base clogging thumpers.

Things up here in Chicago are getting VERY rough between Ozzie Guillen and the teams GM Kenny Williams. There's a report that Kenny told Ozzie "You're done, you're done." back in August. However, the Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf loves Ozzie and wants him to stay. Take that for what it's worth.

I was pretty surprised when I was over in the States at a Rays game last summer how basically everything stops completely for the national anthem. Like I was in the process of handing money over at one of the food places inside the stadium for my chicken strips when the staff stopped serving for a couple of minutes lol Personally, I like the Chicago Blackhawk way of doing the national anthem:

There's a ton of White Sox fans who hate Hawk Harrelson. http://www.heavethehawk.com/ He's really the worst announcer in the history of sports. The worst thing is that when the Sox are losing he almost refuses to announce ballgames. oh sweet! I didnt know about that site. LOVE IT!

probably the worst announcers in baseball so dont worry about it. Between radio and TV, there are 2 good broadcasters. Farmer on the radio and Steve Stone on TV. DJ on the radio is just DREADFULLY bad, in my opinion and Hawk on the TV has his moments off severe annoyance... there's nothing worse than a day when Hawk decides he's going to do nothing than rip on the umps.

Put the cap at 120 Million. Highest at 120 Million, or low at 80 million. That means the Yankees would have to get rid of all their players... That's kind of the point... level the playing field. I like the idea of a cap (somewhere between 120-150) a LOT but MLBPA will NEVER EVER allow it.

I think the only teams you can contract are Oakland, Kansas City, and Toronto. Tampa is borderline. The Rays didn't come into the AL until 1998, but the ground was broken for the Trop in 1986. In the case of Tampa, it could be a scenario where the Rays franchise were to move to Kansas City, but baseball would no longer exist in Tampa. I'd remove Tampa out of the mix. They are a franchise in the positive direction, and all they've done is gone up in the past few years. Even if they are financially on the same level as the rest of those teams, they've got a positive outlook to say the least. They'd be last on that list for me. Being that I am from the Chicago area, I'm not plugged into the state of the Rays stadium situation. What's going on right now? I thought I read they are looking to possibly move across the bay (and closer to where the high speed rail will be)

ill be in the cell on sunday. hopefully i dont get stabbed. That stereotype is mostly no longer true. As recent as 10 years ago that might have been true, btu in the past 10 years most of 'the projects" (you could call them slums) have been torn down, the neighborhood around the park has gentrified, and there are plans to build middle income housing in the area. It's an area on the rebound. Sure, there are areas around the cell that are less than delightful, but in general the area is MUCH better than it used to be.

So, is now a good time to eat crow on how bad the Sox have been playing? lol On a serious note, today is how the Sox were SUPPOSED to be playing all year. This team was built to be a centered around pitching with a line-up that plays "small ball" / "grinder" baseball (or as we like to call it "Ozzie ball"). When needed they could drop a log bomb on the opposition. Tonight was a microcosm of what this team was built to do, but mostly has not.

I've played with multiple iterations of what I would do with the current teams with regards to realignment and none work out the way I want it to because of how teams are disbursed throughout the country. I've been trying to create "hyper regional" divisions where teams like the White Sox, Cubs, Brewers, and Twins are in one division while the D-Backs, Padres, Dodgers and Angels are in another. To make this work, another 2 teams need to be added (an upper east coast team and a south east team), and well, that doesnt work for me as 30 is already too many (I believe that no professional sports league should have more than 26 or 28 teams). So, I changed my plan of attack. I thought: "I'm going to play MLB God and change what I would do if I were commissioner". I decided to add one major restraint: I cant remove a team that has recently built a new stadium. I did this because the logistics of contracting a team with a new stadium is cost prohibitive. Here is what I came up with: Either eliminate the DH in the AL or adopt it to the NL (I vote the latter) Contract the Oakland Athletics and KC Royals. Why? Athletics are wandering the the wildernaess right now and KC was the only other real option. This is where it gets interesting... Move the Brewers to the AL Central Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, and Houston Astros join The Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays in the new AL South Colorado Rockies move to the NL Central Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Seattle Mariners join the new NL West I dont like having an 6 team NL West, but it's one of the few scenarios that works. (Another option is to move the D-Backs to the AL South and the Brewers stay in the NL central, but I dont like the idea of one division spanning the entire continent.

I am new here and a White Sox fan (I consider the Marlins my #2 team and I am trying to get more involved as I am moving to Florida in a few years). I can say this much, the Marlins should be able to take at least 2 of the 3 against the White Sox. We're just BAD right now. is the Sox problem pitching or hitting? you think they'll be high scoring games? Both pitching and hitting are terrible right now. The starters are sketchy at best right now and we have a closer with an ERA over 6! Jon Danks is the only Sox pitching doing much of anything, but Garcia hasnt been too bad. Mark Buehrle hasnt been the same since his perfect game last season. The hitting has been really bad as well. Key players cant get a hit to save their lives. The team had potential to be great based on the amount of talent, but they havent lived up to it. They have only 3 everyday plays hitting above .240. If i had to pick, I'd say high marlins scoring (5 runs a game) with low Sox scoring (2-3 runs a game)
