May 22, 201014 yr Hawk Harrelson is like having a fan broadcasting the game. I guess if I was a White Sox fan Id like him since he is very passionate about White Sox baseball.

May 23, 201014 yr I dont think Hawk is the single worst. The worst is a tossup between Hawk and Al Hrabosky.

May 23, 201014 yr I would say that most White Sox fans like Hawk, but there are definitely some who have issues with him. I think one thing that annoys fans most about Hawk is when the game is out of hand and Hawk starts talking about his playing days. For example..."You know, Stoney, there was one time Yaz and I..." Others get on Hawk because he is not to quick to criticize the White Sox when they play poorly. This is the opposite of the approach Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall took when broadcasting Sox games in the late '70s. Harry and Jimmy, who were the most entertaining announcing tandem ever, pulled no punches when they did games. I do think Hawk and Steve Stone (one of baseball's best minds) have great chemistry on the air.

I never do. The people that call are well... special.
May 23, 201014 yr probably the worst announcers in baseball so dont worry about it. Between radio and TV, there are 2 good broadcasters. Farmer on the radio and Steve Stone on TV. DJ on the radio is just DREADFULLY bad, in my opinion and Hawk on the TV has his moments off severe annoyance... there's nothing worse than a day when Hawk decides he's going to do nothing than rip on the umps.

May 23, 201014 yr Just makes me appreciate listening to Rich and Tommy every night even more as they are reasonably fair towards opposing teams and always provide a few laughs per game
May 23, 201014 yr Why do we get so upset about other teams announcers, do we expect them to speak bad about their team and good about the visting team, to me i find Rich is just as bad a homer as them, you don't cut off the hand that feed you.

May 23, 201014 yr This makes me feel good about Rich and Tommy who are more than fair and polite and kind when describing our opponents... are critical of the Marlins when its appropriate... and are still good homers when they need to be... all with a few laughs here and there. The more I watch, the more I appreciate the announcers that we have.
