LordMagnus
Just heard it on the local radio. Guillen wants a new deal or wants out. The White Sox are reluctant to extend him and will try to trade him. The local media here suggests trading Ozzie for Logan Morrison.. LOL..if we trade a major league ball player for a manager, I will be not happy.

EricWiener
I can only imagine Ozzie's big mouth working for Loria. It would be a hellova show. Also, we can give them Juan Carlos and a lifetime supply of prison jumpsuits

Admin
Trading away a player for a manager would be the most idiotic thing that this organization has ever done. I'd be fuming pissed if they did this.

MarlinsLou
You guys are really over reacting to trading a player as compensation. If that does happen, it will be somebody completely inconsequential and won't matter. The idea that anyone would even suggest a player of Morrison's current calibre, let alone future potential if he decides to hit for average again, is beyond me. Admin
Wes Helms, sign and trade deal :-) This had actually come across my mind before you posted. Wes Helms is probably the only guy I would have approved trading away for a manager.

Giving up any talent for a manger is stupid, unless it's someone who probably should have been released anyway, but I doubt it would be someone that inconsequential. Last year the White Sox wanted Stanton. Obviously that's not going to happen, but I don't think that they are going to take throw away talent. MarlinsLou
Throw away talent or a complete public relations nightmare Ozzie will create to get fired. You realize this is Ozzie Guillen right?
LordMagnus
Which is funny, because the the Marlins front office was clearly not happy about off field distractions this year, yet they want to pursue Ozzie as their next manager. Hotcorner
Eh, they won't trade a good player for Ozzie, that's moronic.

This is Loria we are talking about. If he wants something, he will not stop until he gets it. He wanted Girardi and got him. Its the same deal, as I am sure that Beinfest and company have tried to talk him out of it. But no, no, no, this is what Loria wants and he has to have it. Hey, only 1 of our 4 recent managers was fired for speaking out against the guys upstairs. That's not all that bad.

Marlins97+03WC
At least no significant player has been taken out of the lineup today... Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Ozzie Guillen is managing his final game with the White Sox on Monday night and is expected to traded to the Marlins. The writing has been on the wall for a few weeks now, but it sounds like Guillen's time in Chicago is finally over. Cowley has been told by multiple sources that the White Sox are in "the final stages" of completing a deal to send him to the Marlins. Guillen entered Monday's action with a 677-617 record (.523) over eight seasons as manager with the White Sox, including a World Series title in 2005.
