I for the life of me cannot find that Damion Easley HR. I checked both of his seasons here on all of the game logs and he only had one game with a HR in the 9th but it was on the road in Cleveland, and I'm positive this was at home. I've got no idea of whether I'm crazy or what lol.

Here's a HR he hit in the 9th at home, but it was to tie the game:

That's the closest I can find homeboy.

I was there, off Billy Wagner in the 9th. Carlos Delgado hit a game-winning double in the gap and Joe Dillon scored the winning run. It would have been late May 2005.

when we had a consistent team. ok, jk, definitely the Gonzo shot heard roung the world in 03

Without seeing it I cant confirm it but if I were to see it I'm almost positive I could identify the HR it was to deep-left center field to the mid-right sign of the big scoreboard. It might have been to tie the game.. all I remember was it was a 2 out situation and I thought it was 3-2 but that says 3-1 but none the less it was when the Marlins were losing. Obviously comebacks happen all the time but this one was just awesome in my eyes.

This could very well be it though.

ESPN doesnt have a game where Easley HRd against the Mets at home, so I think Rab is winning :p

It's the same game, Wagner was pitching for the Phillies at the time.

the Niner to Pudge throw & play at the plate is my favorite singular moment.

I have a soft spot actually for a moment during - you guessed it - the miserable 1998 season. Younger fans might not remember it so I'll set the stage:

It's post-firesale. August 26th, they're in the division cellar and are just god awful. As a Marlins fan you're so depressed and yet you can't stop watching because they're still your guys ya know?

The team is getting clubbed in St Louis 6-0, McGwire's on his HR record tear and hits #54 off Justin Speier that went 510 feet. I'm sitting at a bar wondering why I keep watching this painful season wind down.

9th inning the Marlins come to bat and it's magic time. D-Lee, Cliffy and Kevin Orie (!) launch back-to-back-to-back homers, then after a Castillo walk & Dave Berg single, Mark Kotsay bashes a 3-run shot off Jeff Brantley to tie it. Fish go on to win it in the 10th on a Randy Knorr (!) RBI double.

Jim Leyland who'd been ejected earlier in the game was in tears in the locker room during the postgame interviews. You could just see the strain of that awful season had worn the guy down so much and this was that one moment when they all felt like champs again for a day.

and as per Mike Berardino:

As they made their way back to the visiting clubhouse, the Marlins were greeted by a whooping, shouting Leyland, who had been ejected in the middle innings.

That would have been memorable enough, but Leyland also was stripped to his underwear.

"Leyland came running out of the clubhouse in his underwear like we'd just won the World Series," recalls Dave Berg, a rookie infielder in '98. "It was great. That was a pretty good story because you don't really see Jimmy like that."

'Course they went 54-108 that year... but for one night at least, you felt great. For one night at least that firesale which gave you stomach aches all season didn't hurt quite so much.

Yeah, it happens. Though he's with the Braves in today.

I guess not, I must have midunderstood.

Billy Wagner was a Met for the most recent 4 seasons. I didnt account for the fact that he was a Phillie when I quoted that post. Didnt add time up when I read it. Was not able to correlate that his post to the Mets of 5 years ago rather than the Mets of last year. It was a brain fart. Im too caught im in the present... Wagner being a Met for so long... that I forgot to account for the past... Wagner being a Phillie.

It's funny, I actually do the opposite a lot. I'm constantly thinking of JJ Hardy as a Brewer or Scott Rolen and Jim Edmonds as Cardinals.

Wow, it seems like that happened yesterday. What I remember from those years the most is Castillo's hit streak. That was the one positive throughout those years. What I really find funny in predicting season records in 1994 we would need a BIG year from Destrades to be respectable. Yeah, that turned out SO good. Bret Barberie was a good player too.

It varies on me. I'll always think of Scott Rolen as a Cardinal, and the same with Jim Edmonds. In fact, Scott Rolen makes it even tricker now that he's wearing a Reds uniform. That all being said... Vlad = Angel. Rolen = Cardinal. Wagner = Met.

On a completely different note and I'm sure this has been talked about before but what ever happened to Hee Seop Choi? I noticed his name a few times running through the games...

Mike Redmond's inside the park homerun has to by my favorite moment... it was just hilarious, his slide was awful... you could tell he was absolutely exhausted by the time he slid into home plate. I laughed like crazy after that.
