Jim DeMint told a crowd of supporters Friday evening that he will continue to recruit like-minded Conservatives across the nation to run for Congress and pastors to join the fight to “take our country back. ..... DeMint said if someone is openly homosexual, they shouldn't be teaching in the classroom and he holds the same position on an unmarried woman who's sleeping with her boyfriend — she shouldn't be in the classroom. I know this guy isn't from Florida or anything, and it's just typical pandering to a church crowd more than anything else..... I'm confident that reasonable conservatives out there are not reaching this stage of loony.

But yeah protestors in general seem to be a special crowd indeed...

bobbob1313
Senators should be held to a higher standard of not being f***ing retarded than normal people. Also, I'm sure Mr. Demint is the type of Republican who invokes Ronald Reagan at every possible turn. Maybe he should look up the Briggs Initiative and see what he had to say about it. Hotcorner
no I edited it... I'd like to think I would actually march/protest if the cause was important enough to me.... but I'm not sure I'd actually talk to any other protesters, lol. Entendu
Senators should be held to a higher standard of not being f***ing retarded than normal people. You're acting like he stood up in front of the Senate drunk and started ranting about gays and conspiracy theories. Perhaps you don't agree with what he said, but that doesn't make him retarded. You obviously don't agree with what he said, but I'm certain he has some sort of backing for what he believes, whether it be religious or otherwise. This kind of sh*t is visible on both sides. You're just making this seem crazier than it actually is. People have backasswards beliefs, but it doesn't make them crazy - it's just how it is. If our lawmakers are supposed to be representatitives of our population, then you're going to have people who say things you can't begin to accept. It's as if right now you'd tell me Harry Reid was a nut because he said Obama didn't have a 'negro dialect.' It's a disagreeable statement that reflects racist beliefs but it doesn't make anyone retarded or insane. You can call them homophobic, sexist, racist, or whatever you want, but you need to acknowledge that it's on both sides and there's usually some sort of rationale behind the stuff they say, whether you agree with it or not. bobbob1313
Sorry, saying gay people shouldn't be allowed to teach is crazy. Comparing a senator saying that to a random protestor is absurd. His rationale is based on his religion, and his religion tells him gay people aren't real people, essentially. That's crazy and I won't apologize for thinking that. Yes, there are crazy people on the left, I would never imply that there aren't. That doesn't make this guy any less crazy.

Jimmy42Jack0
while im not going to say that there are more or less looney tunes on one side or another...at least the far left generally steers clear of religion...which if you have studied human history and understand human emotion....is a great thing some in this country need to be reminded on a daily basis that there is a seperation of church and state and thats for the benefit of all americans

You seem to have a little list of words you use here and there whenever you want others to sound senseless. They don't make you sound any more sensible, especially if you use them at times where they make no sense.
