if anyone wants to play

And to add to my COD rant, it annoys me how people go and queue at shops for midnight launches. It's only a game!

It's not only a game my friend......it's war

Sorry man. MW2 got me hooked hard. Don't know what it was.

Though I'm not one of those guys who camps out at midnight for the launch. I'm renting my copy via Gamefly :)

I got it last night at midnight (didnt pre-order, wasnt too big of a line because it was the Gamestop @ UCF where there are 2 other Gamestop's with parking lots outside of campus).

I gotta say, MW2 > Black Ops for pure multiplayer purposes. That being said, there are a ton of things that they fixed/removed from MW2 that were the right things to get rid of. I'm just more concerned with the physics, the game engine, and the weapon mechanics. It's simply better in MW2. But that being said, I still pass Black Ops with flying colors.

Until you play campaign. If you're like me and you like to beat every game on veteran... you're going to want to throw this game off a building. The storyline is average at best - but the killer is the extremely poorly placed checkpoints and ridiculous levels. There will be points in this game where you will be on a vehicle and you will be shot at... and you wont be able to shoot them back. And you will die. Many. Many. Times. Until they miss. And you get away. And the checkpoints. You will get far. Very far. And you will die. Again. and again. Right at the end. But then you will get useless checkpoints that dont do anything.

I've beat every game that I own on veteran, hard, legendary, hardcore, you name it. I've never had trouble. This is easily the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. You can literally get hurt, and then see the CPU turn a corner and fire a bullet. As though you were hit before he even fired the gun. Your CPU teammates will stand in the way. They will completely ignore enemies right next to them, and they'll let the enemy kill you. They'll stand in front of your gun. They'll take the only spots that are good for cover. They wont cover you. They wont move forward until you're a good 100 yards ahead. Furthermore, Treyarch sucks and we are going to miss Infinity Ward for sure. Because Treyarch thinks they're extremely smart when they implement a system where enemies respawn if you dont move forward. Tie that together with the fact that you have equal health to your enemies... and your CPUs are half-retarded and wont move forward... it's almost impossible to advance at certain points. But you wont get that 'this is challenging' feeling. You're going to get that 'this is retarded' feeling.

Again, +++ for Multiplayer, + for Zombies (although for some reason they're Nazis still?), and a big fat ---------- for Campaign.

So is the game worth the hype?

Depends.. what did you think about Modern Warfare 2?

Never played it :thumbup See earlier rant....

So how are you doing with the campaign? Did you end up beating it?

I spent 2 hours repeating the same scene, to a point where I said forget it.

I quit playing it and went online. I'll go back on it eventually over the weekend. The point is that I've played all of the games you can think of on the hardest difficulty, and I've never had any trouble at all. It's incredibly frustrating.

So is the game worth the hype?

Depends.. what did you think about Modern Warfare 2?

Never played it :thumbup See earlier rant....

Ah well, I hated the first Bioshock personally. too linear for me, and not enough weapon selection. And an incredibly confusing storyline that I was too lazy to follow. Great graphics though.

If you're looking for a single player campaign or single player game, and you're a huge Vietnam/WW2/Cold War etc. person, the stories in COD always are great. If you enjoy challenges, MW2 is great. If you've never tried COD out, the Infinity Ward series is better. In terms, MW2 would be (was) worth the hype. Black Ops? Treyarch lets COD fans down once again.

It's a shame Treyarch is the new frontrunner for COD games and Infinity Ward is off the clock... Sledgehammer games better do a oood job.

Whereas I thought the story in the first Bioshock was amazing, kept me immersed in the game. Sadly I have not played the second that much, just cannot recreate the atmosphere of the unknown of the first.

The only CoD I have played is the original Modern Warfare. I admit that the probably reason I am not gripped by the series is because I only played the single player campaign and not online multiplayer which I know is the main selling point, so maybe if I tried that then I would be converted.

Dude, I'm right there with you. I'm playing on Veteran and sometimes get stuck on the same parts forever. It's freakishly hard. Still, I'm enjoying it. And Multiplayer is a blast of course.

I'm playing veteran and I still haven't gotten stuck. Am I that good?

Lol how far are you? There are only 2 points where I've been stuck so far.

One of them was where you escape the prison place and jump off the motorcycles onto that car with the turret. That ticked me off because right before you go under that bridge they must've killed me at least 20 times BEFORE I got under the bridge (you cant turn around to shoot them).

It's a failure of logic in the game. There's not a single thing I physically could have done to change that.

And then on the space-rocket level Soyuz or whatever... after you blow it up and you run into that bunker... and you're entering one of the rooms... the guy kicks the table over... and from that point I've been so far... and no checkpoints. And something kills me here or there with half a bullet.... no matter how far I get.

That part had me for a while. I kept killing everyone until I realized that they kept spawning and I had to push forward :(

I'm stuck at a part in Vietnam. Lots of death. :(

That spawn system is completely signature of Treyarch. Yeah, because it's totally realistic, right? So stupid if you ask me. You could literally kill 500 people and they'd keep spawning.

I'd understand if they capped it at x amount of spawns, but they dont. That 'push forward' mentality makes it much less tactical based and much more 'run in like a crazy maniac and take a million bullets but still survive and regenerate health' based.
