Can't give Mujica too much stick for this one seeing as he did a good job the past 2 nights - and there lies the problem, getting used 3 consecutive nights. Desperately need that D to shore up because it is costing our starters an inning or so.

Our scorekeeper generously ruled that the speedy Desmond would not have scored from second (had he been there instead of third due to Bucks error) on Zimmermans hit (Bonis arm is such a weapon!) to change an earned run to an unearned run for Johnson. With Murphys terrible throw allowing an obviously out Ankiel to be safe at home the night before, why wasnt that an error on Murphy and an unearned run for Volstad? Then the two extra "earned" runs that scored after Murphys miscue? Volstads ERA got royally screwed. Two of his four walks were on the terrible umpire Tim Tschida (is that pronounced "cheater"?) :Livan had five walks and he got screwed too.

Stay patient.. Stanton will really balance this lineup out.

Stanton being out could be the main reason for Hanley's struggles, for what it's worth. Without Stanton's presence in the lineup, opposing pitchers aren't going to give Hanley anything great to hit. If you're an opposing pitcher, you're not letting Hanley beat you. Especially when he doesn't have Mike Stanton protecting him.

Gaby's a solid ballplayer, but he's not exactly feared; he's not great.

Agree completely. Seems there is quite a trickle-down effect with Stanton missing. Once he returns and starts giving protection to Hanley.. you have to think Hanley will start hitting at a high rate. And once that happens, you have to think Infante will start seeing more pitches too. And then being able to move down our gap hitters/OBP guys to the 5-6 spots and having power in the 7th spot... well, just seems like a much more complete lineup. But thats pretty easy to say with the guys we are replacing him with. We definitely aren't equipped to have key offensive players miss significant time.

Cant believe we got a loss yesterday with JJ on the mound, this early in the season

Are you expecting JJ to go 30-0? :confused

Remember, judging by his track record, the offense doesn't play when hes up there.
