Coghlan plays a solid, if not strong CF, and he's a better hitter than many other CFs. ?!?!?!??!1 go compare him to all the other CF's out there in stats...there are LOADS more CF's performing at high levels Kemp, McCutcheon, Bourn, Victorino, Stubbs, Rasmus, Ellsbury, Jones, Brantley, Span, Cabrera, Granderson, Crisp, Young....and these are just the guys with min. 200 PA's There is a large group of other guys as well but their stats are pretty much right in line with Coghlan's - no better, no worse - and various cases can be made for one or the other. Coghlan is very much just an average ballplayer. The fact that he seems to have forgotten how to take bad pitches and do something with the good ones is indicating a downward trend in his abilities.

You said he's not an everday player. And now you said he is average. An average player is an everyday player, just not a superstar.
