Marlins win!

Thought they were going to blow another one with failed RISP.

Nice to see some HR's!

Anibal managed the game nicely.

2 of 3 from the Mets and a winning streak!

Padres may have been the nail in the coffin for a miracle run...Marlins can still finish at .500 or even over...but now at 49-53...73 losses is what, 89 wins? 89-73? Yeap. Yeah...can only afford 17 more losses...to get at 92-70. Blah....this team has a shot at it...if they go back to April/May ball. But stilll...I say Marlins are liekly to get hot like Gaby has said, and maybe match 2009's 87 win record. I think though...83-85 wins are most likely.

Great to win having lost the lead in the 7th. Disappointed for Anibal though, as he pitched reasonably yet failed to pick up his first W since June 10th.

I'd be happy with 83-85 wins at this point. It has been a weird season, full of niggly injuries, slumps and just other extremes.

i think this game might be reversed or have to be played over or something like that. didnt buck break the rules by being productive?

This upcoming stretch against other NL East teams is key. With 2 wins and 2 losses for the Mets and Nationals, we're back to being within 1.5 games of the Mets. If we can just beat up on these teams, get back into 3rd place, get to .500 and then just work really hard at staying there. Then, hopefully, by the end of the season we can realistically be at 83-85 wins.

Please come back JJ, we miss you.

I'm seriously beginning to doubt he'll play another game this season.

Nice win today. It's always a good day when you win a series against the Mets. I forgot the game was on and turned it on just in time to see LoMo hit it out of the park. Nunez looked a little nervous with his initial pitches to Harris and Reyes but those back to back strikeouts to close the game out were nice.

83-85 = 168 games, season is only 162 games.

I missed the game, but just watched the replay of Bucks double to take the lead. Was that an ode to Hanley when he waived his hand behind his head?

I've had my doubts for awhile that he can ever really fill the role of a legit #1 as he always seems to get injured each year. He's already missed extensive time in his young career for TJ surgery and I really doubt he'll be back this year either which means he's missed almost this entire year as well. Some guys are like that though..all the talent in the world but can't stay healthy no matter what. It's frustrating yes, but it's something the marlins need to start planning for because I don't see JJ as having a long productive career with his history.

That's by far the most disappointing thing about this season, I don't care how good you are... you're not an ace if your not out there on the mound.

edit: I think JJ is one of the best pitchers around when he is healthy, problem is after '09 his innings have only gone down... lets hope he pulls out a great season next year.

Agreed with all of this, never imagined JJ not being a long term starter for the Fish.

Just look at the record of his replacements and imagine JJ's performance there. That along (not even considering cascading bullpen issues related to subpar starters) is enough to have us over .500 and still thinking about the post-season.

An average June has us over .500 and thinking about the post season.

This season just wasn't meant to be. Which is sad because at one point the Marlins had the 4th best record in baseball.
