July 27, 201114 yr Per the Herald (http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/07/26/2332369_p2/miami-dolphins-pursue-veteran.html), the Fish would lsiten to trade offers for Infante. Not a surprise, despite the FO's contention the deadline will be quiet, considering his impending Free Agency and how he doesn't fit into our long-term plans. My question to you is, assuming we do trade him, what do we do about our IF? I'm assuming Boni would move to 2B, leaving 3B empty. Unless we get a 3B in return (doubtful because I think we go young pitching in any deals we make this year), do we roll with a tandem of Dobbs and Helms like we did earlier in the season? Can you all think of any other options, outside of another trade or FA (ie, Cantu), that would work? I guess we could try Castillo again, who seems to be tearing up the PCL w/ a 1.07 OPS. Do we have another option for 2B if we keep Boni at 3B? Seems to me Jack likes him at the hot Corner. Personally, my outside-of-the-box suggestion would be to promote Dominguez. The season's lost, and even though he's still not hitting well in the minors, I'd rather give him a headstart for next year against MLB pitching while we'd have time to find a replacement in the offseason if it looks like he's still not ready. I don't want a repeat of this year where we put all of our chickens in one basket only to run out of of time in ST to sign someone else when Matt failed to take the job he was served on a platter. It would start the clock on Arbitration, though, so with many expected future Options down to the minors, maybe it's best to delay that as much as possible.
July 27, 201114 yr if we can get back something quality for him, sure, but dont trade him just to trade him.
July 27, 201114 yr Rename this thread, please. Writing 'Infante Trade' implies that he's already been traded.

July 27, 201114 yr Responding to the OP; I think if we are going to trade Infante now we better get something very good for it, I don't want to look back and think oh remember the Infante deal at the end of the trade deadline in 2011 for the wrong reasons. It just sounds odd, I'm still hoping one of the losers of the Heath Bell sweepstakes over bids for Leo and the FO has no choice but to accept the deal. Plus he has more value now than he would have in the offseason.

July 27, 201114 yr If we trade Infante, I wouldn't care because he's replaceable and likely gone after the year anyway.
July 27, 201114 yr If they trade infante Boni goes to 2b and they will platoon dobbs and helms at 3b. Who knows they might even throw cogs there for a few games if/when he returns. NO MOAR HELMS!
