Posted October 29, 201113 yr With the Cardinals win last night it's officially the off season. So let's get this thread started. News, speculation, Rumors, discussion all pertaining to the offseason goes here. 4 months til spring training!
October 29, 201113 yr Time to start further speculating who will grab Fielder, Reyes and Wilson. Albert is now a wildcard. You think he may have enough euphoria and stay in St. Louis but he did leave it pretty open last night for leaving. The Cardinals could also be thinking that the fanbase is pretty high from the world series and it would be easier to let him go now and save the team some money, then a break down the road on a losing series. The last part is only speculating that he decides to take a short term deal with the Cards which isnt going to happen, so its all for naught really. Personally I would be happy making a run at Bhuerle but I would like to see more, of course.

It would be like starting from scratch again. If he was on the fence about leaving St. Louis, winning will make his decision that much easier for him- this is why I was secretly rooting against them since the beginning.
October 30, 201113 yr Javy Vazquez filed for Free Agency today (along with 147 other players) Is this normal for him to file this quickly, even if he's thinking of retiring? Or maybe he's having that change of heart Frisaro (I think it was Frisaro) mentioned he heard?
October 31, 201113 yr Author I'll also put this in it's own thread, but we have our first big news of the off season. Tony La Russa is retiring. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/Tony-La-Russa-retires-St-Louis-Cardinals-manager-World-Series-seven-games-six-pennants-three-world-championships-103111
