What Happens to Matt Dominguez

Featured Replies

Dominguez goes back to the minors and learns how to hit, which is what the game plan should have always been.

I would imagine the organization holding on to him, so WHEN Reyes goes on the DL they can slide Hanley back to short and have a third baseman.

I have a feeling that if Reyes gets hurt they keep Hanley at thrid and put Boni at short, Cogs/Peterson in CF.

Weren't you the one saying he shouldn't spend more than another year or two in the minors?

No. I've been pretty outspoken about the fact that Dominguez shouldn't be just handed a major league job based on potential when he has hardly hit consistently in the minors. Though honestly, if it takes more than two years for him to put it together, it may never happen.

He has to stay in the minors, he hits like what .240? If he were to come up, it may be just for defensive purposes to have that back up 3B. He might not even fully develop, it happens.

I say if we are given the opportunity to trade him before we or another team find out he can't hit, do it. Trade him while his potential is still high.
