Omar Vizquel?

Featured Replies

Ozzie Guillen quotes from Venezuelan Winter League HR Derby:

"Omar Vizquel is a possibility for our team, we don't know which players we're going to sign, but Vizquel could play two or three more years in the big leagues." Guillen clarified, however, that Carlos Zambrano isn't in his plans at the moment.

So we'd have 7 shortstops on the team?

[Reyes, Hanley, Murphy, Bonifacio, Vizquel, Ozzie, LoMo]

Are you talking about the Ozzie we traded to Chicago for the other Ozzie?

No, the one we have now.

Isn't he the oldest active player right now?

Aaron Rowand could possibly fill the veteran leader role if and when he finds his way on the 25-man roster. Speaking of veteran bench guys, I hear the Nationals are looking at Greg Dobbs.

Rowland can play OF, may be a dangerous bat if healthy and is a veteran (if you put stock in that).

Vizquel was a great player and if he could hold up he might be a good fit for a team that needs some reliable defense at a key position - especially for an AL team. But the Marlins do not need another infielder for the bench.

Actually, it was a tweet from a reporter. I can't read MLBTR for the sake of my sanity.

Gotta pass that bar first. And another Jewish lawyer is exactly what this world needs.
