Opening Night Lottery

Featured Replies

I went to purchase a 10-game plan today, because it makes sense for someone with my schedule (Out of work at 5pm Monday, off Tuesday, work every weekend). The plan includes opening day as well, so less committment for me as well as the days I need PLUS Opening Day, I was going to buy the plan immediately.

THANKFULLY I did NOT purchase the plan online, I went in to the sales office to finalize a deal. I was ready to make the purchase, and at the very end, I was told the 10-game plan does NOT get the opportunity to purchase garage parking! This stopped me from making a purchase, and I'm now very frustrated! I guess here's to hoping I win this lottery...

I still would have went ahead with the purchase. That is if you really want to go to opening night. The odds of you getting chosen for lottery is extremely slim. You know how many 100's of thousands of people are filling out that form. Not to mention those people who win the lottery are NOT guaranteed to get tickets. They'll choose lets say 5,000 ppl in the lottery and those 5,000 will battle for the last 1,000 tickets. So even if you get lucky with the lottery doubtful you get tickets. Im almost POSITIVE other FULL ST holders will be selling extra parking passes.

Rubbish. You win in the ticket lottery, you can buy a ticket. Period. What the hell do you think a lottery is, anyway? An invitation to a cage-match?

Or, as Admin said, two tickets.

Due to high demand, fans are required to enter an online registration process . There is no charge to register for this opportunity.

Continuing through noon on Feb. 20, fans can register at marlins.com/openingnight for a chance to be selected to purchase two tickets for Opening Night. After the registration window closes, fans will be selected at random based on available inventory. Selection does not guarantee tickets. Those selected will be notified by Feb. 28.

The "Selection does not guarantee tickets" disclaimer is stuffed in there just in case some people buy season ticket packages late in the process, after they have "selected" you and the tickets are no longer available.

I was going to say that you could maybe point out that he was misinformed with being a big turd, but, you know...

That article says nothing about getting garage parking passes. If it were part of the lottery, they would most definetly have said it. Get the 10 game plan.

I'm betting alot of full season ticket holders didn't opt for the parking pass option. We didn't. The people right next to us didn't. And I know of one couple right behind us that didn't. The reasoning was always the same. Getting out of those garages after a game, then down those side streets to 95 is going to be rough.

A little side note......I just heard through the grapevine (nothing confirmed yet) that full season ticket holders will be getting an option to double up on Opening Night tickets. Notices to be sent out soon this month. If true, and I have no idea if it is or not, then look for alot of tickets for sale on StubHub and elsewhere. Same rumor about Yankees tickets.

Thanks for the heads-up, Admin. I'm registered to receive e-mail updates from the Marlins (Marlins Insider, tickets, etc), but I never received a notice the lottery had been opened.

Same rumor about Yankees tickets.

Yanks tickets are confirmed. You can buy up to 2 extra tickets per game for Yanks. An email has already been sent out with your personal password. Each STH will have their own unique password that can only be used once.

I answered this in the other thread, but I'm gonna have to call the couple that sits next to us and see if they were notified. I wonder if it has to do with the location of your tickets? We have full season in Sec 305, Row 1.

  • 2 weeks later...

#Marlins say over 52,000 fans have registered so far for chance to buy two tickets for Opening Night April 4. About 1,000 will be sold

Ehh.......Don't like my chances, lol.

Better odds than the real lottery! Hey, ya never know.

Buy the 10 game pack if at all possible.

Eh, my work schedule is kind of weird right now so any plan might not really work for me anyway. If anything, I might just try my luck with Stubhub if I don't win a lottery spot.

I'll take you to a game.

We should film the experience and call it The Funchise.
