Looks like Chad Gaudin will likely win the final bullpen spot but that isn't official yet.

I'm not exactly for or against this so whatever. Gaudin did very well yesterday against the Cardinals in 3 relief innings.

Looks like he'll be the very first call up when someone in the rotation goes down...

I like LeBlanc in the minors, but not Gaudin in the pen.

If LeBlanc is the fallback in case "something happens" to one of the starters I'm hoping that means they won't wait too long to call him up if Zambrano can't hold his own. I really don't expect much from Big Z but I suppose he'll be given a month or two to prove himself.

Not overly surprised with this move. Even tho I questioned it because of his Spring, I thought at the start of ST this is where he would end up for the "just in case" mode. "Go to AAA, get your work in on a regular schedule, and stay ready." Gaudin has had a pretty good ST and if that translates over to the regular season then all is fine. If he faulters in the long relief role then there is always Plan B. Even tho LeBlanc probably isn't the happiest person in the world right now, the pluses out number the minuses for the team with this move.

On the other hand I am actually fairly confident Zambrano can post together a good year. I can see 12 wins and an ERA in the 3.50 region
