April 9, 201313 yr I would think it could approach 750 actual butts in seats. It could be worse though. I remember going to a day game early in the 2003 season when I counted 50 people in the stands when the first pitch flew.
April 9, 201313 yr Author You're right Admin. It's almost a guaranteed win night for them with Kris Medlen going against Wade LeBlanc.
April 9, 201313 yr It looks like 100 fans in the stands according to Manny Navarro: https://twitter.com/Manny_Navarro/status/321760972362612737/photo/1

April 10, 201313 yr watching the highlight of the HR the place looks about empty ........... seems less than a typical batting practice crowd yikes
April 10, 201313 yr the photos on ESPN for the game are kind of sad as well ......... seems like half of them are to highlight the stands, where most games you get shots of the actual game http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/photos?gameId=330409128&page=1

Loria is fielding a AAA team, and the fans are responding with a high school crowd.
April 10, 201313 yr As I predicted, specials will be rampant. Kids eat free on Wednesdays, 1/2 price tickets, groupon, buy one get one free, I'm sure there's more to come. No way they raise any ticket price, they're cutting them and will probably cut them some more.
April 10, 201313 yr heat playing at aaa that wont help Speaking of which, during the OD game, there was a "Let's go Heat!" chant that got started. :lol
April 10, 201313 yr These pictures are a bit ridiculous. Both of the games here thus far were night games, that 2nd pic is clearly taken during daylight and before the game has started. Even in a game with high attendance, the seats aren't filled until the later innings considering the people who arrive late, walk around the concourse looking for food, socializing, etc.... I know attendance is down, but around the mid innings yesterday there were cleary more people than the sparse few shown here. Choosing deceiving pictures isn't cool. Its like taking a picture during batting practice and claiming that's the full crowd. That said, I know you weren't the photographer Benched. Just sayin in general.

Yeah, they were probably taken before the game started (despite the AP saying they were taken during the 1st inning, which the second one clearly wasnt') but that's still pretty bad for the second game of the year with the gates open (they open an hour before game time).
