He's played what? 10 games? And he's made progress throughout that time period. Striking out multiple times against Harvey isn't always an indictment against the player.

I've learned not to get excited about BP guys.

To be fair Ramos was a guy a lot of us, including myself, were excited about when he was in the minors. Most of us saw him as a closer option given how good his stuff is.

 

I still see him as a possible closer option long term, although Cishek has that job nailed shut right now. As I've said before Nick Wittgren is a guy we could see in the majors at some point next season, and he has potential to be a very good closer.

And Michael Brady is ahead of him right now - this dude is 26, but has been putting up some good numbers in AA. Didn't know much about him until Bender started talking him up. He has good strikeout rates and doesn't walk anyone - 5 walks to 43 strikeouts this season. 1.79 ERA in 40 innings. Could get a shot for a bullpen spot in 2014.
