That's very literally a long road.

Unbelievable. I go out of town for the weekend and everything falls apart. It's really not a stretch to say this series is crucial. Losing 3 out of 4 here would be a disaster, and the team might start a slide that they can't get out of. Then at the Trading Deadline goodbye McGehee, maybe good bye Cishek, maybe good bye Stanton. This team needs to get back over .500 to prevent Loria from doing what he does best: getting rid of payroll. Therefore....Go Fish!

We need Nathan Eovaldi to finally step up and pitch like a front of the rotation pitcher. He has been garbage lately. The baby excuse is worn out already. He supposedly does have a 3rd pitch, a change up, in addition to the fastball and slider. He needs to start using it regularly, or he will keep having games like the past few where hitters are sitting on his fastball and taking him into the upper deck. So far he's been a two trick pony, 97 mph fastball & 87 mph slider. When the slider is off he has to throw fastballs and that's the end of that. And even if the slider is on, only having two pitches is not gonna do it in this day and age. What made Jose Fernandez so great is he had about 4 different pitches he could throw. Eovaldi's velocity is maybe even greater than Jose's. But with only two pitches, he's just half the pitcher Jose is. So, Go Eovaldi! LOL...Pitch like an Ace tonight!
