Marlins @ Phillies - 6/23 - 7:05 PM

Nice! Eovaldi is pitching a shutout, yet in no way can it be said that he is dominating the Phillies. He's pitching to contact, getting a lot of fly ball outs, always seems on the verge of giving up a big HR, yet he has skated out of trouble all game long whenever he got into any.

Lefty on the mound in a close game? LEAVE JONES IN!

Wait, that didn't work? But he's a career .193 hitter against them! .184 this season!

Horrible. The complete inability of Eovaldi to bunt is on Redmond. He has to make his pitchers at least practice laying down a sacrifice.

Seriously, there's no excuse for Eovaldi to be that pathetic at bunting. An hour of practice with Brett Butler and he would at least learn how to hold the bat. He has no clue what he's even doing there.

I'm pretty sure you're more likely to score a run with a runner on first and one out than you are with a runner on second and two outs. I don't think bunts should be completely done away with, but the automatic "pitcher's up, gotta bunt" thing needs to stop.

Our pitcher is throwing a shutout right now, and you're bitching about his bunting?

Oh...My...God

If he doesn't give up runs I don't care if Eovaldi misses a thousand bunt attempts.

Dunn warming up is a scary sight. Howard and others on this team have knocked Dunn around in the past.

A 2 run lead in this ballpark is not safe.

Close game in a park where homeruns happen off of routine fly balls? Better put in a guy who gives up homeruns on about 10% of his fly balls!

I give Eovaldi credit for getting through 6 1/3 innings when he didn't have his best stuff. The best pitchers aren't the ones who dominate when they're stuff is going great, its the ones who find a way to give five or six solid innings despite having so so stuff going for them that day. Eovaldi deserves a lot of rep for doing what he did today.

Well, there goes Redmond with his "Dunner" again. The lefty that can't get lefties out. Well, I'll be praying. But I hate Dunn. Absolutely can't stand the guy. I hope I'm wrong & he gets the outs and keeps the shutout intact, but he always scares me.

Plus Phillies OWN him

Brown is hitting better against lefties than righties this year.

Dunn is pitching better against righties than lefties this year.

Does Redmond even try?

I love redmond. He always does things by the book. What a trooper
